There are a lot of good alternative uses for parachute silk, although you’d want to dye it.
I didn’t see the piece in the papers on this thread, but I did notice the item about Gen. Petain’s turning over Paris to Gen. DeGaulle. That must have been just about the crowning moment of DeGaulle’s life.
