Reminds me of when Henry VIII stood up in parliament and demanded that all members of the Church in England recognise him as Supreme Head and Sole Protector of the Church in England. Pope no longer head of the church. An Act was passed confirming the King’s status as Supreme Head of the Church of England. The King’s new title was proclaimed to the people.
