Cop Hits Man in the Head 20 Times as Onlookers Plead 'Don't Punch Him No More'
Reason ^ | August 25, 2014 | Robby Soave

Once the cops have pinned a non-violent suspect to the ground, how many times are they allowed to punch him in the head? Is it fewer than 20? I would say so, but I'm not a Greenville County, South Carolina, deputy.

Greenville officers approached a man at a Walmart parking lot on Saturday. The man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and didn't respond to police questions or instructions. Eventually, the officers followed the man inside the store, where they attempted to detain him. The deputies claim the man resisted, though video footage of the incident certainly makes said resistance look passive, rather than violent. But once the two cops had the man on the ground, one of them immediately began punching him in the head. I count at least 20 blows.

Onlookers were horrified, and begged the deputies to stop. Many thought the treatment of the man was cruel, according to WSPA.com. "Please don't punch him like that, don't punch him no more," said one witness. (More video footage can be seen here.)

The man was eventually tasered and then taken to the hospital. Police have not given his name or explained what the charges against him are. The department is reviewing the footage, however, to determine whether the deputy acted properly when he punched a helpless man in the head over and over and over again.

Only did it once....was suicidal..

Found a good Alabama girl and we have been sharing our lives for 34 years now...

I no longer have the need to drink. But I am not a t-total type. I like to get a little tipsy with the right company. That only happens a couple times a year...

Without cops our country would be like tribal Africa.

It wasn't for over 100 years we didn't have professional police.

And tribal Africa has a police force today.

I'm ok without local PDs for a few years.

Remember the scene in "Clockwork Orange" when one of the lads becomes one of the cops?

That nails it!

Good for you. Bless you and her. Her 'specially. ;)

Me, I haven't found the one, and it would take a burning scroll from heaven, trumpets, and the whole nine yards to make me begin to think about it.

Ummm...frankly speaking, I have never had a good relationship with the police or law enforcement, local or otherwise.

Generally they are in my face, trying to make my day, so to speak. So I can do without them, on a personal level.

I can’t speak for the rest of society. I don’t like them much, so I really don’t care.

Now I do appreciate the fire department..

Law enforcement is necessary I suppose, but it’s a necessary evil to me.

I suppose it’s largely because they have never protected me from anything, and when they tried, they always got it wrong. I rode a motorcycle for some 25 years. I spent a lot of time in the back seat of a police car for just trying to get to work.

It got so bad, that I usually left for work, 30 minutes early to show up on time.

No.....I don’t need that kind of protection. So I avoid them as much as possible and lost any trust I had many years ago.

But that is just one man’s story.

Be careful what you wish for.

(you are so smart)

AND be DAMN sure that it's your wish, and not the one the media put in a bottle and stuck in your mouth.

For all we know, this was a staged event. The cops made sure they went inside where there would be plenty of video evidence. The guy gets up and walks away. Nobody died. Crisis actors in the crowd.

Get whitey to endorse the black revolt against the fuzz. This will leave the whites and blacks at each others throats, ensuring civil chaos. The third stage in the subversion of the United States.

Maybe I'm way off base, but already we have seen that 'laws' mean nothing to our leaders rulers.

These freakin cops are out of control. They act like they're James Bond with a license to kill. I know there are a lot of cop supporters out there, but I after all I've seen in the past couple of years I'd say that something major has changed with them. F*** 'em all.

Budget reductions might be why it is happening. I don’t know the finances for that department, but if folks want intelligent, well-trained cops with sound, mature judgement, we have to pay more for it. What we’re looking for might in fact be very expensive these days. It’s a tough job that most people don’t want to do.

Got proof that it was planned?

None.

Or are you just yammering out of your vent?

You mean thinking outside of the box(whether it be the TV or water cooler or a source on the internet)?

Yes.

Do you think your government is capable of staging events to frame your opinions and persuade you to take some action ?

I'm just saying that some of the 'circumstances' of this incident seem more to be for purposes of distribution than anything else. I''m probably wrong. But at least I consider all options.

Horse crap. I've seen the budget documents.

No PD budget is getting cut. They have been growing.

If a city budget does get cut, it makes the national news with layoffs of FD and PD.

Do some research.

Where did you get that information?

LA cops and others in CA are some of the best paid in the U.S. You ever hear of the Dorner case?

I watched the News video. Is it me or did the one eye witness have the Worlds’ worst toupee?

Good reporting, Jim! Where’s the fashion police when we need them?!

I used to be an Occam’s razor type - but since Obama - nothing surprises me anymore.

While I won’t go as far as you and suggest these events were ‘staged’, I certainly believe that they employ a ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ mentality, and this IS now the event to stoke - for the purpose of not just sowing chaos - but sowing chaos for the purpose of putting every police force in the USA under Federal Control.

It’s all part of the plan to create a “National Civilian Security Force, just as strong, just as powerful, just as well funded as the military”.

What better way than to stoke this event for all the maximum carnage they can extract, railroading this cop as ‘guilty’ - and justify putting all police in the country under Federal control and oversight?

I mean, did you see it? It looked like a birds nest or a door mat. Anything but real hair.

Doesn’t he have someone to tell him to take that dead rat off his head? Seriously, it is not as if he was deformed or had a serious physical ailment, that hair hat can be removed!

Yammering.

You have no proof.

I hold you to the same standard I hold anyone else to.

Proof.

Doesn't matter what I think my government is capable of. I generally think the worst of them just on general principle, and because it's easier because I'm wrong less often.

I don't ascribe motive to anything I don't have a good handle on the actual events of.

You are yammering out your vent.

It's about having a goon squad loyal to those in power, and obey orders without question. It's also about controlling the public thru intimidation and fear. What do you think all the Homeland Security agencies are busy power pointing your local police departments about?

"Here mayor Jones, we have three armored personnel carriers which shoot tear gas, rubber bullets, shoot sound waves at crowds to make them throw up, and sprays fluorescing dye on crowds so they can be identified if they flee the tear gas. If you can qualify your agency by providing these services for us, we'll also supply you with SWAT training and equipment."
