I use my Orion Cooker and it takes about 4.5 hrs for 7-8 lbs.

I went charcoal to gas to charcoal then back to gas. The heat is more controllable, you can smoke with it and it’s less hassle. Don’t miss charcoal one bit.

Gas is definitely easier and probably a lot cheaper too. It also helps if you have a really good quality gas grill, and not some cheapo CharBroil from Walmart.
