New York and California Migration to Other States is Helping Liberals Take Over America
Frontpage Mag ^ | 08/24/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

America is suffering from two failed state colonization problems.

One is migration from failed states in the Third World. The second is migration from failed liberal cities and states like California and New York City to more traditional and less densely populated parts of the country.

The pattern is simple for both. Carry on the same destructive behavior that wrecked your country/city/state after you moved to get away from it.

The same people fleeing high taxes, high crime and poor services are exporting the same problem by voting for liberal politicians. That helped make it possible for Obama to win nationally and for Democrats to win statewide.

Californians have moved to Colorado and Nevada. Massachusetts natives have moved to New Hampshire. New Yorkers have moved to North Carolina and Virginia — and, of course, have continued moving to Florida.

Over the last few decades, residents of many traditionally liberal states have moved to states that were once more conservative. And this pattern has played an important role in helping the Democratic Party win the last two presidential elections and four of the last six. The growth of the Latino population and the social liberalism of the millennial generation may receive more attention, but the growing diaspora of blue-state America matters as well.

The blue diaspora has helped offset the fact that many of the nation’s fastest-growing states are traditionally Republican. You can think of it as a kind of race: Population growth in these Republican states is reducing the share of the Electoral College held by traditionally Democratic states. But Democratic migration has been fast enough, so far, to allow the party to overcome the fact that the Northeast and industrial Midwest contain a smaller portion of the country’s population than they once did.

The migration helped President Obama win Colorado, Florida and Virginia

I disagree with this.

What is happening in America is that we are shipping American jobs to other countries.

100,000,000 or so American are now out of work. Every day more and more Americans, are out of work.

Nobody is saying we need to bring back jobs. Nobody. The GOP is absent. No word from the democrats either. Both parties are selling out America.

This is the problem. Both parties are selling out America on jobs.

Bring back US jobs.

GOP stand up. Be for American jobs.

They foul their nests and make them unlivable and then they move on to infest other states.

It isn’t quite that simple.

Many “Californians” are not from California... Pelosi is an east coaster for example... I’d argue California was invaded by leftest over the last 30+ years and now we’re living the result. That California was just in a long line of their path of destruction...

So true. We don’t want them to come to our states after they destroy everything where they live. We don’t want to hear their sorry axx opinions either.

Yes this is happening. Get enough liberals in these red states, and they too the balance into the Democrat column.

Isn’t it more complicated than that? Here in the USA, due to unions and taxes, you have to make a lot more than people in other countries need to survive. So since they can work cheaper our companies export our jobs.

Isn’t it really the fault of our unaffordable welfare recipients, overabundance of government workers, and excessively paid government workers...err...I mean union members?

Patrick J. Buchanan said all of that and was soundly repudiated by the clueless American people.

It’s Red Hampshire now, no longer “new” at all.

The other key aspect to this is no matter how empty blue states get they still get two senators.

We are all run by a northeast oligarchy of small states. They rule far out of proportion.

I’d still like to see Texas split into six states for that reason. Same for California.

I just think we have taken America far, far too much to the “globalism” direction.

We have sold out.

America needs more jobs. Nobody is advocating for American jobs.

The GOP is sold out. The democrats are sold out. Both parties are useless about American jobs.

GOP get with it.

Americans need jobs. Quite a lot of jobs.

I do not want, what democrats will make in response to this. I want what the GOP will build.

But the GOP needs to build. Now is the time.

GOP get with it.

Buchanan most likely would have been repudiated by the country considering the level of hysterical demagoguery that would have been leveled at him had he been a GOP nominee.

But as it was , he was repudiated more by the GOP elite than anything else.

I wish I could answer that. They kill jobs where they live but then come to our states when the jobs move here.

it’s shortsighted stupidity on the part of our government and the people who own it. Anything for a quick buck and a slight increase in the stock price.

Greed ain’t necessarily good.

For years Coloradans complained about Texans vactioning and hunting in their state. Fortunately some of that was ameliorated by California and Northeastern liberals moving there.

Things are much better now.
