The ironic thing is, that slavery existed under Old Glory (the U.S. Stars and Stripes), for a hell of a lot longer than it did under the Stars and Bars of the Confederacy (89 years to less than five years).

Yep. The Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in the Confederate States; NOT in the Union States, where people (many black) continued to own slaves.

The Emancipation Proclamation freed no one, because Lincoln had no control or jurisdiction over the Confederacy.

That was because President Lincoln had no Constitutional authority to end slaver in the Union States.
