Pentagon: No evidence of ISIS at border
The Hill ^ | August 22, 2014 | Martin Matishak

The Defense Department on Friday pushed back against Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s (R) claim that fighters from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) might have entered the United States across its southern border.

Perry, who is weighing another run for the president in 2016, made the assertion Thursday during a speech at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

"There's the obvious great concern that, because of the condition of the border from the standpoint of it not being secure, and us not knowing who is penetrating across, that individuals from ISIS or other terrorist states could be [crossing]," he said. "There's a very real possibility that they may have already used that [strategy]."

But the Pentagon’s top spokesman, Rear Adm. John Kirby, shot down that allegation.

“I've seen no indication that they are coming across the border with Mexico. We have no information that leads us to believe that,” he said on CNN’s "New Day."

Kirby said Pentagon leaders know the terrorist group does have “aspirations to hit western targets” and that the threat is something “we’ve got to take seriously, and we have to be ready for it.”

He added that the Pentagon doesn’t have a “hard and fast number” of how many foreign fighters are among the group’s ranks.

He pointed out that officials in the United Kingdom are trying to uncover the identity of a man with a British accent who appeared in the video showing the execution of American journalist James Foley.

Australian leaders also raised the issue of their citizens becoming radicalized and joining ISIS with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, when he visited the country earlier this month, Kirby added.

“It's a problem in many countries, and we face that problem here in America. It's just hard to get our hands around it,” Kirby said.

Oh, yeah, I trust them. Those who are left after the real soldiers got fired...alas, the Ministry of Truth speaks.

In the last few years several tunnels from Tijuana to warehouses in San Diego have been discovered. God knows how many have not been discovered. The tunnels are equipped with rail tracks and lead to warehouses with truck loading docks. We don’t know what was loaded onto 18 wheel trucks and sent all over the USA. Do not believe that the border fence, which only covers a fraction of the border there in San Diego, has fixed the problem.

This administration is one lie after another. They could tell me it’s raining outside (it is) and I wouldn’t believe them.

No, they would tell you someone is peeing on you, not that it is raining.

As if they would tell us if it were happening and ruin the premise of amnesty.

Ok. So we have the Military acknowledging that we ACTUALLY HAVE A BORDER!

That’s a start.

And how would he know? The number of illegals in the United States is over 30 million and millions came in under the radar. Does he think terrorists advertise their arrival?

This is the same Hagel Pentagon that admits it couldn’t find the ISIS hostages before Foley was slaughtered? THAT Pentagon? Whatever has happened to our military ‘leaders?” DO we have any leaders left, anywhere in government?

Every last one of the Joint Chiefs should have submitted his resignation when Obama told them if they didn’t accept gays in the military, they could quit. IF they were leaders they’d have quit en masse.

No one has a clue as to who has come across the border, most of all anyone in DC. Worse yet no one seems concerned except we in Texas. Our only hope is that they will find our weather and hospitality uncomfortable enough that they will keep moving north, east and west and get out of our state.

Apparently the federal government can find no evidence of the flood of illegal aliens either.

There are professionals whose job is to get humans across the border. They know their trade. They'll get a bundle of humans, and then sort them. When nearing the area with border patrols, they'll put the kiddies into a group, and have them walk up to the patrols. Then, the Isis-types go into a different group, and they walk over... IN-BETWEEN the border patrols. ISis is here!

That means all the Muslim prayer rugs found thus far at the border must belong to Mexican or Chinese illegals

Rick Perry: It’s entirely possible that ISIS has already crossed the southern border

Via the Daily Signal. Easy prediction: This soundbite will inspire lots of scoffing and sneering without even a bare attempt at an argument on the merits for why he must be wrong.

“There’s the obvious great concern that because of the condition of the border from the standpoint of it not being secure and us not knowing who is penetrating across, that individuals from ISIS or other terrorist states could be [crossing the border] — and I think there is a very real possibility that they may have already used that,” he said…

“We have no clear evidence of that but your common sense tells you when we’ve seen the number of criminal activities that have occurred — and I’m talking about the assaults, the rapes, the murders — by individuals who have come into this country illegally over the last five years, the idea that they would not be looking at [the border] … is not a good place to be,” he said.

He’s fearmongering! ISIS poses no direct threat to the U.S. (yet)! Is that right? Here’s Mike Morell, former deputy director of the CIA:

After explaining what he thought needed to be done to defeat the terrorists (more targeted strikes and better intelligence), he said that “if an ISIS member showed up in a mall in the United States tomorrow with an AK-47 and killed a number of Americans I would not be surprised.”

I had an odd thought ... If ISIS does strike inside the US, but instead of civilian targets, which would infuriate me, what if they only hit DC and/or US Government targets/politicians? How upset about it would I actually be?

Eye-opening exchange on this topic at the recent House Judiciary hearing on immigration.

<><> Patriot Cong Randy Forbes (Rep-VA) said Americans need to know if violent gang members are walking their streets. Forbes asked USCIS--a DHS agency--headed by Obama appointee Leon Rodrigues---whether the agency asked applicants about gang membership---and when they invariably reply no, how does the agency know whether it's true or not?

The calculated Rodriguez would not reveal information---Forbes insisted on knowing "do you even ask them if they're gang members."

THIS NEEDS TO GO VIRAL: Obama rubber-stamper Leon Rodriguez oversees the legitimization of the border swarm. Moreover, Rodriguez administers EB-5 visas at USCIS (A DHS agency).....said to involve major US national security threats.

===============================================

In an earlier statement----citing a Homeland Security Investigations memo----Sen Charles Grassley said the oversight federal agency ICE identified key vulnerabilities in EB-5 visas:

1) Export of sensitive technology/economic espionage.

2) Use by foreign government agents/espionage.

3) Use by terrorists.

4) Investment fraud by regional center.

5) Investment fraud by investors.

6) Fraud conspiracies by investors and regional center.

7) Illicit finance/money laundering.

==================================================

Rodriquez is the fourth consecutive Cuban-American to hold the UCIS job. The first two, under the George W. Bush administration, were Eduardo Aguirre and Emilio Gonzalez, both born in Cuba. Rodriguez was born to then-recent Cuban emigrants in Brooklyn...a fact unreported by the media.

After serving as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn (a state, not a federal position), Rodriquez moved to the U.S. attorney's staff in Pittsburgh, winding up as the first assistant there. He also was in private practice, and from 2007 through 2010 he was the County Attorney for Montgomery County, Md., a Democratic stronghold. He held political positions in the Obama Justice and DHHS departments before his current nomination.

According to reporting by Kenric Ward, Washington correspondent for WatchDog.org, Rodriguez' nomination faced Republican opposition for this position, as it did three years earlier when Obama nominated him to be head of the Wage-Hour Administration in the Labor Department, only to withdraw the nomination later.

Rodriguez was a board member of Casa Maryland---a latino-centric advocacy group---pushing for unlimited immigration, and has connections to nationwide immigrant groups.

The “greatest military minds” telling us not to worry? Aren’t they the ones who say that in order for military plans to succeed, secracy of movement and deception are imperative components of the plan? how stupid do they think we are?

Exactly. The only way for Liberals to take terrorism seriously is for a few thousand Americans civilians to die. Even more if it is a city run by Democrats. And then, unfortunately, they lose interest after a couple of years.
