What bothers me is that so many are against local law enforcement having up armored vehicles, 50 caliber weapons and material like these.

Dressing cops like soldiers doesn't make them soldiers. All the materiel in the world isn't going to change the fact they're still cops.

Never said it did.

What goes along with the material is the training. That, coupled with the fact that many cops are former military.

Just because they are now civilians does not mean they forgot their training and experience.

What separates cops from military is honor and integrity.
