In Washington 21/2 years ago, the nation's top civil-rights enforcer, Thomas Perez at the U.S. Department of Justice, sat down with Sanford's mayor, city manager and U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown and promised to investigate whether Trayvon Martin was the victim of something more heinous than a homicide.

Was he also the victim of a killer intent on harming him because he was black?

That was March 20, 2012. The Department of Justice still has no answer to that question.

Civil-rights investigators are due back in Central Florida this week to continue their work on the case.

The agency has repeatedly refused to discuss what it has unearthed, whom it is talking to and when the investigation will conclude.

But two people with ties to the case report they've recently been in touch with the department or the FBI, the legmen sometimes used by the DOJ.

One is Frank Taaffe, a former friend of George Zimmerman's. The Neighborhood Watch volunteer killed Trayvon, an unarmed black 17-year-old, in Sanford on Feb. 26, 2012.

Taaffe was interviewed last month by two DOJ civil-rights attorneys and an FBI agent in Maitland, he said, and they've asked for another interview this week.

He has not agreed to talk this time, he said....

OJ was found innocent, yet had to pay the family of his ex-wife for wrongful death. The officers in the Rodney King beating were exonerated by a regular jury yet were found guilty in a similar civil rights action. Remember?

Not sure what civil rights law that he's in jeopardy of violating? He's a private citizen so no color of authority. No conspiracy because he was alone. Martin was not engages in any federal protected behavior. Wasn't burning down a church or blocking entry to an abortion clinic.

See, you’re going by facts. That’s not how this game is played. Watch and see.

“Was he also the victim of a killer intent on harming him because he was black”?

How does the Ministry of Racial Justice, er I mean the CIVIL RIGHTS Div of the DOJ intend to determine this? Telepathic mind reading? Or Vulcan mind melding maybe. One thing progressives/liberals constantly seem to know with unerring accuracy is when someone is thinking racist thoughts. For instance whenever you oppose things like Obama Care or the repeal of Stand Your ground Laws.

Maybe I’m wrong but IMO if Holder charges zimmerman with anything this far after the fact there very well could be a big backlash by white voters.

BUT then again this is what happens when evil people are not held accountable, they go do more evil things. Holder should have been impeached for contempt of congress long ago.

Hate is not a crime according to the FBI. To be a hate crime a actual crime must be motivated by hate.
