......over a month after signing the controversial saggy pants ordinance, Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn said Tuesday he no longer supports it.....
His stance comes after criticism by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The groups claims to be taking direct action against the city, which can mean a lawsuit, according to Dale Landry, with the NAACP Florida chapter.
"I'm sorry, it's going to be black males that are the subject of this," Landry said.

I don't want anyone to get a check from the State unless they are a contractor being paid for services rendered.

...looking like a fool with ya pants on the ground!!
Don't feed the bears (Federal Sign).

But you and I both know that is not going to happen anytime soon.

We won't get open carry in Texas unless people keep pushing.
My grandsons already know the arguments for both ending welfare and allowing Constitutional carry. It's a generational thing.
Fight until the last breath, and train the generations to follow.

Why should the public be obliged to see strangers’ buttocks thinly covered by their underwear on city streets? Eeeuw. It offends any idea of public decency. Next step, the NAACP will insist that black males can parade down the street without any pants OR underwear on. And wussie mayors like this jerk will kowtow accordingly.
Because that's what government does to enforce ANY law.

Fixed.
I was walking behind a white student who had his pants sagging so told him to pull them up before they... that’s as far as I got before they fell to the ground. Stupidity doesn’t discriminate.
Sadly, that style is coming back.
You like looking at their underwear or commando cracks? Please tell us what you consider decent about this backdoor open for business signage.
Just say no to CRACK!!!
No belts.
I had a former GF who was a correction officer. The sag came from when they took your belt when you are first placed in jail. The perps had street clothes then and they had to walk around holding up their pants. They took everyone’s belts to prevent suicides. This was not a black thing.
I have no idea what they wore in the real prison as I never saw inmates walking around but I believe they wear coveralls with no belts allowed.
Never heard about the homosexual angle as she says that the homos dressed like women anyway.
The sag became popular after some rapper sang on stage with his pants lowered. I think he was in jail or did it as a message and it caught on from then.
I think they look awful but it is their right to look disgusting. I feel the same way about tattoos but like I said, they have a right to look disgusting.
See, they eventually "work" their way to where they belong without all the muss and fuss that gets the libertarian crowd around here all in a tizzy. Another way to look at it is to give the pants draggers an opportunity to learn the error of their ways - some of them may actually catch a clue.
Yeah, generally I tend to agree. I also think community standards of decency ought to be enforceable, especially for a municipality or local jurisdiction.
The further “out” you get from a town, say, into a national dress code or something like that, I would oppose such a law.
Nudity, for example, can be used as an expression of one’s self. We haven’t yet degenerated to the point of saying in every town “Well, to each his own!” Cities rightfully have a say in what passes for good decorum in the public square.
