the big problem is it WILL be the worker bees that pay....they'll get taxed more...

wouldn't want to cut back a little on all the entitlements...

lets be realistic that there are plenty of so called "conservatives" and patriots taking the money as well....any govt retiree has got a sweet sweet deal, far above the average citizen...

Great tables! Thanks.

I'll think of the numbers in Table 12's last 2 columns, the % on Earned Income Credits & Additional Child Income Credits (income/wealth transfer handouts) EVERY TIME a politician trying to sell amnesty says "They'll have to pay the back taxes they would have owed."

I probably won't be able to resist re-posting those charts on FR - so thanks again in advance!

The answers keep coming back to “have someone else pay for it” by either borrowing or taxing the mythical “rich.”

..........or printing money 24 / 7 / 365...........or just creating electronic dollars.....................

Actually that total excludes SS. Only “ means tested programs”.
Add SS and the percentage nears 49%....

Your welcome. Re the EITC payments:

IRS Gave $14 Billion in Refundable Tax Credits to Illegals

North estimated that an average of 15 percent of ACTC refunds are directed to undocumented households.

In August, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found that the IRS is not in compliance with their returns of improper Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) payments. The IRS’ rate of improper EITC payments for the fiscal year of 2012 was estimated between 21-25 percent, totaling nearly $62 billion overall.

If we have an amnesty. Heritage estimated it would cost $6.3 trillion. Yes, it is in the trillions.

This is what is frustrating - those striving to be “compassionate” are just making the problem worse and more untenable.

Compassion is where Party A and Party B get to decide how much Party C will give to Party D.

It bothers me when Social Security benefits are lumped in with “entitlements”. I worked full time for nearly 40 years and had no choice but to pay into SS. A late in life divorce by a unfaithful spouse has left me with little. I fully intend to start receiving SS at age 62. I cannot wait until my benefits reach their maximum. I am very fortunate to have a pension after working for the same employer for 32 years, who downsized my group and moved our work to contractors in India. I continue to work part time in the small community with a lower cost of living to which I retired. If I live long enough my total benefits received will make up for the discount of taking them early.
