DYER COUNTY, TN -
(WMC) A young girl, who claims she was standing up for her religious beliefs in the classroom, was suspended after breaking a class rule of saying "bless you" after a classmate sneezed. When Dyer County High School senior Kendra Turner said bless you to her classmate, she says her teacher told her that was for church.
"She said that we're not going to have godly speaking in her class and that's when I said we have a constitutional right," said Turner.
Turner says when she defended her actions, she was told to see an administrator. She says she finished the class period in in-school suspension.

I agree public schools are obviously XXX rated ideological labratories, and parents by now should know that.
As for the “re-education” system itself, we saw it coming, grow and take over, and we slept— or sleep.
war on Christians continues...
Tennessee huh ?
How long are good southerners going to put up with this crap ?
Late night home visits to offenders domiciles were once an effective strategy for causing people to revisit their political positions and immoral convictions
Man...parents!
What is wrong with marrying after the guy gets a job, sex after marriage, single income, minimalist living and just homeschool?
Or private school
Why can’t people get an affordable house and get back home? No one is raiding the majority of these kids in a judeochristian formative setting. The government works for us not the other way around. They simply don’t get to tell us what to do with our kids nor to tell them God is bad
Why do we allow it. The teacher is not at fault here. She is an idiot. The fault lies with the parents completely for enabling and allowing the child to be with parent-authorized idiots all day every day.
This has to be a hoax story. Right? RIGHT??
I did the same with my son. When he graduates from CSU Sacramento next spring, he plans to be an Air Force Officer.
“F U” is fine... “Bless you” gets you suspended.
got it.
no religious bigotry here. move along
just part of obammy’s war on Christianity being that he is a mooselimb.
It is going to cost me more, but I just got my kids into a good Christian school. I will do whatever it takes to keep them from the public system now.
There is no guarantee they will turn out great, that is going to require myself to be a strong biblical leader as well as the wife.
It is because you have common sense and would seem to be a good person.
On a side note, I hope you do not mind if I pray for you and see what the Holy Spirit can do heh.
Absolutely understandable that they suspended the Infidel. As the country Fundamentally transforms to Islam courtesy of the Treason party, these slights to the Prophet Obama must be punished.
ping...
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
God bless your children!!!!!!!!
It’s possible this teacher and student have a history of clashing on religion in the past. And at this time one of two things happened:
The student said the phrase “bless you” very loudly to get under the teacher’s skin or
The teacher is using this as an excuse to nail the student because before this the teacher wasn’t able to catch the student in anything that could get her in trouble.
It must be one if these two scenarios because as you pointed out the phrase itself is quite ubiquitous and I dare say non-religious. No one ever takes it as a moment of prostelyzing.
>> Its amazing anyone uses public schools anymore.
It’s amazing the bitch teacher isn’t being sued.
“Its amazing the bitch teacher isnt being sued”
You’re right on that. Hopefully they will once the dust settles.
Why how dare you threaten my teeny ego with your religious beliefs! LOL
Thank you, may peace reign in your life.
There is no mention of separation of Church and State in the Constitution. Congress cannot establish a nationwide religion, but that doesn't mean it can't use a basis in Judeo-Christian ethics to establish laws.
