Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

This is how pandemics work. Pretty scary.

and that she said later that she had recently been in contact with people infected with Ebola

Doctor: "Lady, why didn't you tell us straight away that you had been in contact with real Ebola victims (plural)?"

Lady: "What difference does it make?"

Incubation period is from one to three weeks from what I understand. This woman showed serious symptoms today.

Probably several thousand could easily have come into contact with her directly or indirectly by this time. And they in turn came in contact with...

Wow - I need a calculator.

I still wonder why these countries allow entry of Ebola-ite people.

There are limited facilities for ebola here and around the world. It won’t take long before all the plastic tents are gone. Remember, America can’t be bothered to have ample supplies of saline.

Just more evidence that most people involved with government are stupid and irresponsible. It is long past time to seal off those countries that are the epicenter of this virus, yet political correctness most likely stops most governments from doing so.

I’m so confused.
For several wks now I have read on FR about cases being investigated for Ebola around world and here in US, yet no one has said these pts actually have Ebola.

Do you think the media and/or gov’t would tell us if these cases are positive for Ebola? Surely they could not keep this secret. Therefore, no cases of Ebola.
