Lowlifes know the line - death puts them behind bars. So they beat a person to within a inch of thier life... Enough so the victim's in physical therapy for years... or blinded - but not dead. Death is a trip to the big house... Beat someone up, destroy their life and the thug's out on the street before the victim can walk...
