Why would sentencing need to be different for criminals of color?
Martin Luther King dreamed of an America where your behavior, your character, would determine your treatment. We have all seen the videotape of young Mike strong arming and attacking a small old man of minority race. What would Dr. King say if he saw that?
Why would we need to be more delicate to a thug like that?
“My Brothers Keeper”—so is every white taxpayer in the country going to personally assigned their very own black “family” to live in our homes, support (I mean, directly, we already support them through taxes and redistribution), wait on as recompense for slavery, do their homework (if any), and allow them to practice the “knockout game” on their kids and Granny? Because unless we do that, we couldn’t “keep” them any more than we already are forced to.
