The violent protests in Ferguson, Missouri following the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown only grew more intense over the weekend. As the primarily, but not exclusively, African-American locals continue express dissatisfaction with the state of American law enforcement, some of the nations commentators are examining the societal circumstances which have led these protesters to believe they have so few stakes in the system that they are prepared to take the risks associated with participating in mass violence.
A few political commentators have observed that there is something gravely wrong with our urban centers. They see the violence in Ferguson, which has been welcomed and celebrated by sympathizers in many of Americas great metropolises, as evidence of the breakdown of the social contract.
“Remember the L.A. riots where the protestors burned down the post office and then stood in the street like a herd of cows when they couldnt get their welfare checks?”
It’s important to note the difference between protesters and rioters. The protesters were local citizens who marched peacefully and carried signs last week because they thought an innocent man had been shot by the police. They didn’t know any different until the store video came out last Friday.
The rioters are a different group. They are the ones who took advantage of the situation to go crazy, came to Ferguson from other towns, and started looting and vandalizing like uncivilized savages. Blame them, not the protesters.
The MSM is trying to gin up anger against the latter group so they can help justify martial law and foment Obama & Holder’s race war.
What’s even more interesting is many of the protestors are telling Al Sharpton to get out of town, and are extremely angry at Obama for not doing anything to help the black community.
The left uses and promotes that culture as a proxy foil against the traditional American, Western, Christian culture.
“the problem is not American law enforcement but the black american subculture that masquerade as Americans”
The gangsta-thug subculture would be more accurate. Don’t drag all the decent black people into this.
For all the treasure flushed down the toilet over blacks during the last fifty years, this country could have colonized other planets.
“Just as the concept of a moderate Muslim is a myth, so too is the concept of a moderate embrace of the inner-city subculture.”
BINGO!
I never drag the decent black people into this. You did precisely that.
I specifically mentioned a black subculture that is defined as being a part of the larger black community that includes many good folks.
If this truly is now a Race War, it will be the first time in recorded history that a minority population was so ignorant that they would actually start a Race War with the much better armed majority population.
One bad apple on ANY police force is one bad apple too many.
COP CAMS would prevent many or ALL of these sorts of tragedies. (To be effective, these devices MUST be “ON” during the entire shift and any officer whose device fails to capture the event under investigation or attempts to defeat the device should be summarily dismissed.)
IF THE OFFICER IN THE MICHAEL BROWN SHOOTING HAD WORN A COP CAM, ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, THIS INCIDENT WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN SETTLED and Ferguson, MO wouldn’t be burning every night and Al Sharpton and the other racist agitators would have to get REAL jobs (if they could find them).
And let’s all remember that even cops and elected officials have families, any one of which could become the victim of the senseless act of some rogue cop who’s having a bad day and wants to pass it on.
We’ve got WAAAAAY too many white trash adherents to that subculture in my town.
BINGO! It will do wonders for their sagging ratings.
The problem is that even the black non-adherents of the “gangsta-thug” culture have been cowered into silence....Lest they be called an “Uncle Tom”....Look how they treated Bill Cosby when he dared speak out against it.
I haven’t had this conversation myself,
but have heard from others.
The minority population is greatly misinformed about the numerical and firepower disadvantage that they are sitting with.
I’m hoping that they are informed “enough” to understand that it is not a good idea to make this “go hot”.
Of course, most also believe/understand that the firepower of the gov’t will be on their side, but again, the numbers and equipment still do not favor that combined effort.
The libs think now that they are in charge the army will kill those crackers for them. Given Obama's purge of generals they just might.
It’s blacks against property. Property isn’t a race, so it isn’t a race war.
Not so much.
They -- Kevin Williamson and Michael Tomasky -- are talking about a tug of war over resources between cities and suburbs.
Superstar ... uh, columnist? -- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is speculating that some day a rich-poor war will break out.
The headline is sensationalist and more designed to stir up controversy than to impart information.
I agree with you, the gangsta-thug subculture now reaches across all ethnic boundaries. Like one poster commented the other day, it’s like killer bees invading a normal hive colony and taking over all their behavior.
It’s not strictly an urban problem anymore, either. I live in the suburbs and the influence among minorities here is astronomical.
Similar to Islam, it is simply an ideology/culture that justifies the most base human nature of antipathy to every one of God’s commands.
“If this truly is now a Race War, it will be the first time in recorded history that a minority population was so ignorant that they would actually start a Race War with the much better armed majority population.”
They’re being led to the slaughter by wealthy globalists who want to see them exterminated. That’s who pays fortunes to all their athletes and celebrities, owns the record labels, sports teams, and clothing companies they fall for.
“Similar to Islam, it is simply an ideology/culture that justifies the most base human nature of antipathy to every one of Gods commands.”
Bingo! It’s civilization vs. tribalism, order vs. chaos, intellect vs. urge.
Your tagline names the real war being fought. Mine is about how the enemy recruits their soldiers.
