My guess is McConnell will win. He is now ahead in the polls.
__________________________________________________________________________________________

I know you said it’s a “guess” that McConnell will win, but here’s some food for thought: Are you taking into consideration what the Bevin voters might do? Are you taking into consideration how many true Conservatives and Tea Party folks in KY are fuming mad over McConnel’s “We will crush them” statement? Are you taking into consideration how many KY Conservatives are cussin’ mad over McConnell’s part in helping Thad Cochran steal the Mississippi Primary?

Just sayin’

Is your projected surprise going to be coming in #1 or #2?

“Voter fraud is what We The People better be documenting, exposing and shutting down. “

Yeah, and now we have to be on the watch for the GOPE doing vote fraud against the Tea Party challengers. The GOPE would rather see a seat go to a RAT than a Tea Partier because they are THE real threat to the GOPE. We need to hope that McDaniel will be successful in MS. I’d like to see Haley Barbour in the slammer!

Here is what I am taking into account in making my prediction:

1) McConnell is now ahead in the polls, including the one mentioned above.
2) Midterm elections generally favor the party out of power. Especially in the 6th year of an incumbent administration.
3) Incumbents usually win.
4) The Democrat Party, BHO, Harry Reid are VERY unpopular in KY.
5) Grimes is VERY liberal. Bill Clinton has been campaigning for her. They would bring in BHO if they could, but everyone knows that would not sell well in KY.
6) KY while traditionally a Democrat state has been trending strongly GOP in recent years.

Bevin supporters have no where else to go.
Not voting is a vote for Grimes.
Voting third party is a vote for Grimes.
Bevin voters will not want to reward BHO and Harry Reid by electing Grimes.

This isn’t rocket science, it’s Political Science 101.

McConnell didn’t need to vote for those things because he knew the democrats would pass them anyways.

Where McConnell reveals his true colors is in the cloture votes. He always votes for cloture and carries a contingent of paid off GOP establishment senators with him. Then he votes no so he can tell the folks back home how conservative he is.

Ted Cruz exposed this cloture hypocrisy in McConnell, Cornyn and many others. And those two hate Cruz for revealing their true natures.

Vote for the GOP Arlen Specters and watch their smoke and mirrors antics while they grow federal government bigger and bigger.

By the way Thad Cochran and Haley Barbour were democrats and are still covert democrats. They are only republicans for convenience just like Mike Bloomberg was a republican for convenience. Now if you want to support these snakes, you can’t call yourself conservative; simple as that.

With respects to Barbour and Cochran, just about EVERYONE in MS was a registered Dem at one time, at least prior to the 1980s.

McConnell’s voting record is FAR more conservative than that of Arlen Specter.

McConnell DOES in fact vote conservative on just about every policy question imaginable.

1) He is pro-life
2) He supports lower taxes
3) He has voted for the Balanced Budget Amendment
4) He supports the Keystone Pipeline
5) He supports increased drilling, drilling Alaska (ANWR) and offshore drilling.
6) He supports natural gas drilling
7) He supports coal
8) He supports nuclear power
9) He opposed Obamacare
10) He opposed the Porkulus
11) He opposed Dodd-Frank
12) He opposed Cap and Trade
13) He opposed BHO’s Supreme Court Appointments
14) He supports a strong military
15) He supports gun rights
16) He supports spending restraint
17) He supports the death penalty
18) He supports tort reform
19) He supports business in general and reining in unnecessary regulations and overreach by agencies such as the EPA and IRS
20) He opposes same sex marriage

I could go and on.

Is he 100% perfect? Of course not! no one is.

I live in CA and have to put up with likes of Boxer and Feinstein for over 20 years. I would kill to have a US Senator like McConnell over the two far left wing ding bats I am stuck with. It would be great to have someone in there who represents you most of the time as opposed to none of the time.

I used to live in Ohio and there I did some volunteer work for the late Congressman John Ashbrook, one of the most conservative and principled congressmen ever IMHO. For a number of decades, the late Sen. Jesse Helms R-NC was my all time favorite US Senator with a near perfect voting record.

But I also learned to recognize and acknowledge that congressmen and senators of that caliber are few and far between. Hopefully others will arise over time and certainly Ted Cruz has bright future ahead of him.

Fact is McConnell is right on just about every issue I agree with. I think it is nothing short of insanity to sacrifice a GOP Senate seat just because of some tactical and procedural disagreements.

As long as BHO is president, nothing positive will be accomplished from our point of view. BHO will simply veto anything he doesn’t like even if the GOP ends up controlling both houses of Congress this fall. The best we can hope for right now is to keep BHO in check and not pass anything until a new POTUS is elected.

You can list all kinds of things that McConnell supposedly supports. But the bottomline is he is bought and paid for by the same entities that have bought off democrats.

McConnell was there when we worked our butts off to give W the House and the Senate in his 2nd term. And still they did their master’s bidding and those masters are the Banksters on Wall St. and the US Chamber of Commerce. They grew government and spent the public’s tax revenues like drunken sailors.

Out here in conservative land, they hate us and will do the same things the democrats will do to marginalize, defund and demoralize us.

And we are in position as a result of their maneuvering that we cannot win as long as they hold power. They can wag their fingers at us, call us names, belittle us and tell us we have nowhere else to go, and we better vote for them else the democrats get the power.

It is better that they go away so that we have a chance at getting the republican party back in our control. Either that or go 3rd party. We win nothing by voting in McConnell’s people. We lose no matter what unless we gain control of the GOP or go 3rd Party.

“Carpetbagging usual does not sit well with voters”

It doesn't seem to have hurt Shaheen too much.

Shaheen is a carpetbagger from Missouri.

I personally have no issues with bankers, Wall Street, or the Chamber of Commerce (except I strongly oppose amnesty for illegals).

I have no problem with pro-business senators and congressmen like McConnell (who btw is an ardent champion of coal in his state).

There have been instances throughout my life where the candidate I voted for in the primary did not win. But I have NEVER encountered an instance where the DEM candidate was superior to the REP candidate, at least not here in CA where nearly all Democrats are effectively Marxists.

Long ago I realized that perfection or utopia in politics is not possible-—nothing in life is. You have to work with what you have. Sure you can go ahead and form a third party (as if there aren’t enough of them already). But a conservative third party would only succeed in siphoning off votes from the GOP and thus guaranteeing Dem victory.

In KY the choice is easy. McConnell has opposed all of BHO’s policies whereas Grimes supports all of them. There is nothing to ponder. It would be absolute insanity to throw away a GOP held senate seat over some procedural matters and differences.

Obamacare will remain the law of the land until a GOP president and House and Senate are elected dedicated to repealing it. Elections have consequences. In 2008 the voters elected a liberal POTUS, a liberal filibuster proof Senate, and a liberal House. Of course liberal policies and liberal legislation were the result. And we cannot count on the SCOTUS to overturn all of this crap.

Say what you like about McConnell but he has opposed all of BHO’s policies, but because the GOP is in the minority in the US Senate there is little he can do about it. Harry Reid runs the Senate with an iron fist and anything he does not like or approve of is never allowed for a vote in the Senate. A vote for Grimes is simply a vote for Harry Reid to remain control. Not voting, or voting for a third party in KY by a conservative is effectively a vote for Grimes which is of course a vote for BHO and Reid. It’s that simple.

Uh, ...no.

McConnell is controlled by Oligarchs meaning those that pay for his seat and pull his strings. They also control Obama.

“Bevin voters will not want to reward BHO and Harry Reid by electing Grimes.”

Don’t bet the farm on that.
