AUSTIN, Texas -- In light of the malicious prosecution of Governor Rick Perry, Republican lawmakers are rushing to jump on the bandwagon opposing the Democrats politically motivated action. But several House Republicans loyal to liberal House Speaker, Joe Straus, bear responsibility for setting the stage leading to the indictments.

A useful reminder of the pernicious role that Speaker Joe Straus plays in the Texas House. Despite a vast majority of GOP members, Straus carries the 'Rats water, holding the Speakership with their support along with a core cadre of RINOs who oppose the will of his party's majority. Straus must be removed.

Straus lost some supporters last election, and with Dewhurst being replaced, the Good-ole-boy network in Austin is losing power.

Straus must be replaced.

How do the Democrats control the House in a red state like Texas?

OMG, I have known Charlie Geren since he was a kid. He had such nice parents. Sorry to hear he turned into such a POS.

Unfortunately, Patricia Harless is my rep who I have been trying to get rid of. Talk about a sneaking conniving little fool. There she is in all her glory. I can’t remember what I contacted her about a while back; but anything I said she was condescending, rude, abusive and any other word you can put in that category. I think they said at the voting booth if she was the only one on the ballot I had to vote for her. I should have done a right in with one of my dogs names who is actually a lot nicer and smarter than this idiot ever will be.

There are just enough of them that Straus, supported by his little cadre of quisling RINOs, can muster a majority.

The Tea Party ate into his support in the primaries and his ally in the Senate, Dewhurst, is soon gone so his days may be numbered.

RINOs would rather have a liberal democrat than a conservative Republican.

I think the GOPe wants Perry to go down as well, that’s why they are complicit with the Democrats in this.

I worked hard, along with a bunch of other folks to get rid of Dewhurst, our Lt. Gov.

Guess what? He's out.

It's easier to do in Texas than at the Federal level.

Straus lost GOP supporters this primary, and isn't nearly as strong as he was. One more election cycle, and he's likely to go.

Agree. Maybe you need to start a “Give Straus the Boot” list. It worked for Dewberry ;)

I have been watching this debacle pretty closely. I think this event is going to flush all the RINO's out like a covey of quail. The GOP(e) squashed the last attempt to get the drunken wench out of the equation.

I think Sen. Patrick's drumming of Dewhurst should send a clear message to our state GOP reps and senators........ Get the Travis County DA's office out of witch hunting exercises ....OR ELSE!!!!!!
