If the cop was right above a lying or kneeling person, how would he even be able to get those shots to the arms - much less even WANT to get the shots to the arms?

No exits on the back side?

Why would a bullet going in the eye go through the face and then come back up through the chin?

I highly doubt that. I know of no agency or academy or even a private training institute that trains that way.

Most likely scenario is how he mechanically pulled the trigger or where his vision was focused under the stress of the incident.

The “non-lethal” shot stuff is really bad television writing.

As I read it, it seemed the shot to the eye ricocheted off bone above the eye socket, traveling down and exiting through the jaw, and striking the clavicle.

Adrenaline alone can keep a person going for quite a few seconds longer than most people can believe, add possible narcotics to the mix (unknown, but possible) and a big guy like that can keep coming for quite some time even after getting hit multiple times.

My best friends father served in the marines during WWII, he island hopped and fought on many of the biggest battles there were, Okinawa etc. When he and I talked before his death my friend was serving in the first gulf war, 1Lt Army and we were fishing together waiting for news of the invasion to happen.

He told me a story that I have never forgotten, about being in a ditch with his .45 while a Japanese soldier was doing a bayonet charge at him. He emptied his .45 into the guy and he still had to jump to the side and run to avoid getting ran through. He told me the sheer determination on that mans face to kill him haunted him still to that day, over 45 years later.

A huge guy like this with his brain in attack mode, possibly hyped up but even without anything but adrenaline I can easily believe needing a head shot to bring him down after getting “stung” a few times in the arms.

Here is another possibility. Take that sketch with the wounds. Imagine someone (crazy enough to charge an officer already pointing any in at him) Mike Mike has his right arm andhand extended forward towards the officer.

Pointing and pretending he has a gun as he says “whatcha gonna do shoot me?” And he begins advancing on the officer...charging is how it was described...

The right hand and the extended length of the arm would all be in close proximity to neck and fatal head shot (s).

That puts the officer’s rounds in a much tighter group.

This is would not be the first time this sort of scenario has happened.

My list of possible scenarios based upon the known facts and the two differing stories put out...put in order of probability.

1. Scenario described above.
2. Officer vision is initially focused on Mike Mike’s right hand during the charge...looking for weapons....then as threat gets closer his visual focus transitions along with his aim to the center mass/head which is lowered from the charge and/or falling.

What would have happened if Brown and his accomplice had gotten hold of the gun at the car? Or if Brown had reached the officer after running toward him?

You might try the link upthread in post 109

Honestly I probably know less about the multitude of different sidearms available than you do, or what they carry, I was just relating what I heard on the radio this morning. The mag7 sounds correct, but I can't check on it right now.

Simple as that!

That was the first similar weapon that came to mind, but I wasn’t sure about the comparison so I didn’t make it at the time I posted or subsequently.

I think it’s called a mag7, so it might be a bit more powerful. There’s a link in post 109 if you want to check it out.

Simple answer.

Officer down, period.

CQB puts the advantage to anyone his size whether the smaller guy is trained well or not, basic physics.

That is because bullets do funny things. Not for the feignt of heart, but you can research some bizarre ballistic happenings with bullets in ME reports that are publically filed.

The 7mm Remington (at link) is a rifle cartridge. I think the officer was firing a handgun and a 7mm handgun cartridge (which is new to me) is a wee thing.

I think it is close to a .32...which is a tiny caliber.

Bullets bounce off bone and change trajectory.

I know a man shot from 2 feet or less who was hit with a .38 in the lower, midline area, of the eye socket.

The bullet rode the bones around the eye in a circular manner like a skateboarder in a half pipe.

It went halfway around the eye orbit and then went back past his ear under the skin but not beneath the skull.

The shots to the arms occurred as the target was approaching the shooter. The shot to the top of the head occurred after the suspect was kneeling or had fallen.
Bear in mind that I am only playing Devil’s Advocate here. I believe these are things the media will seize on and that the Victim Industrial Complex will exploit to sustain their “execution” narrative.

and of course at the end of the presser, crump has to take the question from the plant screaming “WHY WASNT HE ARRESTED” as if the ME would know anything.

The thing is the “attorneys” being so smug as if that was such a smart move. They dont realize that its transparent to anyone with an IQ over 80.

I think it's more likely that shot was aimed for the chest, and the Brown stumbled (after being shot in the arm), falling forward and caught it in the top of the head instead.
