Hey, I’m a Christian Conservative white male.

My dad left when I was 6. I’ve never done drugs or alcohol, never robbed anyone or anything, did my own homework, got myself a job, learned to save MY money and buy a home, etc...

This I did because I CHOOSE a certain standard of living for myself and my children. I was thinking of this even as a teen. MY future, -Not about being ‘Cool’ or ‘tough’ or having street cred or whatever... and screwing up the rest of my life.
And then blaming it on ‘the system’ or ‘the po-po’s’ or whitey or who/whatever.

That’s a cop out.

It takes a PARENT to teach a child RIGHT from WRONG and morality and ethics. Not too hard to do.

This isn’t just a race problem. There are neighborhoods near me that are predominantly white and are the same way.

It’s a CULTURE of “I can do what I want, when I want, to whom I want and ain’t NOBODY gunna get in my way or I’ll beat them down”.

My Dad was disengaged as long as I can remember and gone when I was eight. My Mom worked in a factory and during a portion of the Carter years also cleaned offices to make ends meet.

It never occured to me to loot stores, destroy property, burn down my neighborhood, sell drugs, steal for drugs, etc... That’s likely because it wouldn’t have improved my situation.
