Federal authorities opposed Friday's release of a surveillance video showing a man resembling Michael Brown committing a robbery at a convenience store in Ferguson, Mo., CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports.
The Justice Department asked Ferguson police not to release the video, believing that it would roil the community further, and were able to successfully prevent the video from being released Thursday, the U.S. law enforcement official said.
Friday's release occurred over the objection of federal authorities, the official said.

I believe this thing would be getting even more out of control if the video of Michael Brown stealing wasn’t released.
I also believe the feds may have wanted this thing to get further out of control. Why? Obama’s poll numbers are so low. This could have provided the dipsheet an opportunity to look like he had a clue.
The feds and the media would also prefer to discuss this this situation instead of illegals, genocide in Iraq and Syria, the economy, the IRS, and so many of Obama’s other failures.
The closest they can get is to say that the thug in the video "resembles" Saint Michael.
They are still carrying water for this administration even as everyone sees what toads they are.
