That’s an incredibly small number.
I don’t think the sensationalist understand how they are undercutting their own argument.

I suspect the number of cases where police draw a weapon but don’t shoot far outweighs the number of cases where they shoot. I think its probably safer to confront police than to confront the average citizen.
Just this past winter there was a case (posted here at FR) about a punk breaking into a house and threatening a woman with a machete. She had a gun and managed to back him out of her house without shooting where he confronted two cops who also didn’t shoot him. They talked him down and arrested him without further incident.
A couple years ago in Brooklyn Michigan just a few miles south of me, 2 cops were chased around their car by a nut with a chain saw. Again they talked him down and arrested him without further incident.
