President Barack Obama on Thursday promised to expand U.S. humanitarian relief to Iraqis threatened by the advancing army of the Islamic State militants. He took credit for alleviating the genocide threat to thousands trapped on a mountaintop but said the situation “remains dire” throughout the country.
Obama also said U.S. airstrikes would continue to protect Americans and U.S. facilities in Iraq, and he said Washington has increased its delivery of military assistance to Iraqi and Kurdish forces fighting the Islamic State.
But he gave no indication he intends to shift from the limited, defensive military campaign he announced last week to one designed to use American might to push back and eventually defeat an emboldened Islamic State army, which has made rapid and broad advances across western and northern Iraq since June. …

Well, the folks up there are NOT Muslims. What do we really expect from Barack Hussein Obama when he can get away with it? I expect him to stand with the Muslims and lie about it. Nothing more, nothing less.
King Zero can’t be bothered and he really doesn’t give a rip about the Yazidhi’s. If it doesn’t turn him on he ain’t interested and he only pays it blue-lip service. Back to the fairways now.
Obama yrs have been a mess. He does Executive Orders often, but there is also a Congress. EIn this day and age, US politics should move away from partisan politics, in foreign policy at least. Ultimately it’ll come down to a few facts & a lot of good judgement, situation-specific, to benefit more than a single party. At this point I don’t see much difference between the two major parties in the US. Only a lot of talking points.
I can tell you a tale?
A scared and confused new Captain, got seconded to Ft. Bragg, since he were rather good at stopping people breathing. People listened, they responded, they learned, and they invited this guy who was a long way from home into their own homes. Parties, picnics, barbeques. One totally amazing fishing trip. Two Godkids.
THOSE are the Americans I respect. No - not respect. Love. I’ll not apologize for the word. It’s the only right one.
The Kurds are the same. Tough as hell, but they are honest and decent and good. I had an “Unexpected landing” one time in Kurdish Iraq. They looked after us until we could get picked up.
IN other words, Obama said “Mission Accomplished”.
Who said something like, “When the winds of war blow, I will side with the Muslims every time”?
When the current problems of the world are all coming from muzzies, why would odumbo go against them? Its pretty clear to me that he is a muzzie himself.
I know that many Freepers do not care for Pat Robertson (and I must admit that he says many things that drive me crazy), but I started recording his program years ago just for the news segments. You will hear things that the mainstream media does not choose to report. For example, that is where I first saw a demonstration of "partial birth abortion" long before the truth of this barbaric practice became known.
Geez, why can’t the world and all it’s little problems back off and give the man some time to golf and relax.
This thing isn’t over yet. The support will be ongoing.
I sincerely hope so. The Yazidis are an odd folk, but mostly harmless (No person is ever totally harmless).
And the Kurds deserve our help in any way possible. Not just because of the massive threat ISIL holds, but because they had our back during the Iraq war and returning that honor is the right thing to do.
