Hollywood pumps cash to save Senate majority for Democrats
The Hill ^ | 8/13/14 | Judy Kurtz

Hollywood is pouring money into the midterm elections, with A-listers such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Barbra Streisand all coughing up blockbuster bucks...

One of the biggest recipients of the entertainment industry’s dollars is Kentucky Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes, whose is in a tight battle against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R).

Her donor list reads like a who’s who of Tinseltown: producer J.J. Abrams, Ben Affleck, comedian Jack Black, “Avatar” director James Cameron, Nicolas Cage, Danny DeVito, Cameron Diaz, DiCaprio, Jennifer Garner, director Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Jerry Seinfeld, Mike Myers, and “Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm all giving $5,200 each, the maximum amount an individual can give to a single candidate in a two-year election cycle.

Other Grimes donors include DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, Woody Allen, Ted Danson, America Ferrera, Leonard Nimoy, Streisand, “West Wing” writer Aaron Sorkin, Ben Stiller and Chris Rock.

Hollyweird elites: protecting their millions, living as the upper 1%, giving to ensure infanticide in the nation at large.

By the way, do all of these Hollyweird elites have legal immigrants working on their lawns?

Ask any of those dopes why they want a democrat senate and they won’t be able to tell you what the senate is or does.

I’m glad they are all very public in their support and donations. It will make it easier to organize and IRS audit when a Cruz administration takes office.

They are dropping big bucks in N C for Kay Hagan, incumbent Dim.
And , IMO working. Her ads are at least 3 to 1 over the repub challenger
and much more effective.
I predict Hagan holds her seat in what should be an easy repub win.

Don’t fund their incomes!

Notice the big salaries are never complained about when they are sports stars or entertainers; those noble professions earn and deserve their $, but not business people who create jobs for people.

Spock is kicking in money for Grimes? Say it aint so.

Write the studios and tell them why you will no longer watch movies featuring these clowns. May have an effect.

“Avatar” director James Cameron

He's a Canadian. Why is he allowed to donate to our political campaigns?

I think long and hard about kicking in for Grimes too if that’s the only way to keep Mitch from becoming Majority Leader.

Hollywood puts out crappy movies... guess they've got to do something with their time other than be competent in their art.

Hollywood elites figure, "Why not bully everyday Americans?" Yeah, we're all charmed.

Still, it's tacky for one group to use their vast wealth to push ideas that only benefit liberal elites. Especially when liberal elites make up such a small portion of the population.

But..but...I thought all good Democrats were opposed to large donors in politics.

I guess they really mean they are opposed to large Republican donors.

A lot of their donated cash will disappear into overseas accounts. I honestly feel that the fix is in when it comes to the upcoming elections.
