The WA Alliance for Gun Responsibility continues to pad its war chest.
The independent spending group is leading the push to get voters to approve in November I-594, a measure that would require background checks for gun sales.
Ex-Microsoft CEO Steven Ballmer (and new LA Clippers owner) and his wife Connie were already big donors to the group, but they kicked in an additional $250,000 between them, according to public records.
That brings the groups total fundraising to about $3.2 million, records show. The group has spent about $2.2 million and still has about $1 million still on hand.
Meanwhile, the two spending groups opposing I-594 continue to lag and dont appear to be actively fundraising, according to records. The independent spending group known as the National Rifle Association of America Washingtonians Opposed to I-594 has spend about $17,500 of the original $25,000 that it has raised.

I wish he would shut up and go play with his new toy basketball set.
Do ya think that they’ll each get a gold star from nannie bloomers or the mark and gabby puppet show or the brady bunch singles act?
With all the bucks he has, he doesn’t need to know anything anymore. Besides which, if asked he’d think that NICS was some sort of racis’ acronym.
Oh, right, that won't happen. Like Feinstein giving up her gun, these rules are just for the little people. Equality before the law and all that just means that some people are more equal than others.
We have to call these idiots out on this stuff, every time they appear in public. Challenge them to defend their position, to disarm their own security, since obviously calling 911 is enough.
The politicians and their fellow travelers who wish to remove all firearms from the US are those most in need of doing that to protect THEMSELVES when the people finally wake up.
How many armed bodyguards do you reckon Ballmer has around him at all times?
He knows about it. He just wants it expanded to private sales and to eliminate gifting firearms.
If every transfer requires a background check and there is no control over the recordkeeping on background checks, then universal background checks is the same thing as universal registration.
There is a common denominator behind many of those who want average Americans disarmed and defenseless. You need to seriously look behind the curtains.
They own the D Party lock stock and barrel and use it for their own political purposes while their wealth allows them to hire an entourage of well armed personal security. They probably have a direct line to the White House and local law enforcement too.
An armed citizenry is about giving we the people actual political power, just as does the election process.
To my way of thinking if you uphold I-594 over I-591 you invalidate the votes of those who voted for I-591. However if you allow I-591 to stand, I-594 is not invalidated. It can be put into effect when the National standard is enacted. That is how I would rule. However courts rarely rule the way I would rule.
