Why wouldn't he?
Why was the moron walking down the middle of the street?
Why wouldn't he move to the sidewalk when asked to do so?
Walking in the middle of the street, which no one is disputing he did, is highly disrespectful of everyone else in the world.

They weren’t looting to protest the death of a fine young man. They were looting cause they wanted free stuff.
To: sagar
Did I miss the “rapper” reference in the article? I don’t see it.
To: Buckeye McFrog
I know they weren’t looting to protest someone’s death. But the media covers this story as if the shock and outrage of the shooting causes people to go berserk, and that it is an understandable reaction.

Look at his picture, that’s a gang sign.
Is that why he was walking in the middle of the street?
Possible.
Could be he was just walking in the middle of the street just to be walking in the middle of the street or he could have been looking to give someone driving down the street crap which is common.

Hopefully the rioters are done. They arent exactly helping the cause of gaining sympathy for charges of racism and all that, with their behavior.
They aren't trying to gain sympathy. They are trying to get free stuff. And it is working. The professional agitators are trying to get free money, and it is a good bet that that, too, will work. The only people that care about the "charges of racism" are silly white liberals. For everyone else involved, it is Christmas and New Year, all rolled up in one.
The rioters will be done when the marginal rioter goes home to play with their new toys, and the more dedicated "justice" (ie - free stuff) seekers lose the cover of the masses.

So if he's a member of a gang it's OK for him to walk down the middle of the street, and a police officer has no business asking him not to do so?

Get a load of that Philadelphia Bankroll. If that were all 100’s it would be over 10k, 2k in 20’s. It’s likely to be 1’s and 5’s with the high denomination on the outside to make it look impressive.
When real people flash their peckers (slang for exposing ones bankroll), they’ll spread it to show it’s not fake.

Walking in the middle of the street, which no one is disputing he did, is highly disrespectful of everyone else in the world. He was "owning" the street. This bes my street dawg!

I’d really like to learn more about this guy and this situation in general. I’ve been on freerepublic for almost a decade and am as conservative is they come but had my conservative chops challenged yesterday because something just doesn’t sit right with me on this one.
First, the looting and stuff is ridiculous. But, why such a show of force over the last several days? The police presence is serving as an agitator in my estimation. It gives protestors a target and just isn’t helping the situation.
Why was this man shot so many times? While not a great area of St. Louis by any stretch, this isn’t East St. Louis either. I understand cops being on edge everywhere but this seems excessive, although I certainly wasn’t there.
Maybe the kid is a thug. Maybe he’s not. I don’t think judging every kid based on a few pictures tells a full picture. I can pull just as many from Facebook that can make him look like a good kid. He did graduate from high school. He was going to technical college. Those are facts, not conjecture. I may be completely wrong but this kid doesn’t seem like Trayvon Martin, who was easily pegged as a thug.
While someone found a police record for a Michael Brown, the police say he doesn’t have a record. Is the police record floating around his or not?
Are we all comfortable with police departments that are outfitted like the army?
Just many unanswered questions.

E. Pluribus Unum asserted that he did. Tell himself it’s irrelevant.

They aren't trying to gain sympathy. They are trying to get MORE free stuff. And it is working. Fixed it.

It is possible - within the realm of possibility - that the cop had no right to shoot him.

What the police officer said, and how he said it, both remain to be seen. So if he didn't say the exact magic words that you consider acceptable, the gang member was within his rights to assault the officer and attempt to take his gun?
