The British press are reporting that friends said Williams was very worried about money - and lack of well-paying jobs in his immediate future. His divorces cost him a lot of money - and while they didn’t say where the remainder went, I assume much was pissed away.
At the time of his death, he was living in the original house his mother had owned.
