This is good Pete, this guy is a leading conservative in the State Senate, big improvement over the retiring Petri.
It appears this is only thread anyone has made about tonight’s elections, I guess no one gives a damn when there isn’t a contested Senate primary.
In other news, Tom Foley beats the RINO scion McKinney for the GOP nomination for CT Governor, sets up the rematch with rat Governor Malloy.
Angel Cadena, your preferred choice for Comptroller, loses 3-1 to a very unfortunate looking lady.
The 3-way primary for LT. Gov is too close to call, with State Rep. Penny Bacchiochi nearly tied with Gronton City Councilwoman Heather Somers, your guy Walker is bringing up the rear and appears to be out of it. There appears to be some controversy about Bacchiochi, she alleged Walker was behind attacks on her Black husband (which he denies) or something and she had to fire a staffer for making some kind of comment on “white privilege”. Such a contentious race for CT. LT., interesting.
In Minnesota, the party endorsed Jeff Johnson wins a close and very open primary for Governor over several other candidates.
Party Endorsed Mike McFadden wins the Senate nomination in a landslide over Paultard State Rep. Jim Abeler, who unsurprisingly chose not to respect the party convention and stayed in the race. The wealthy McFadden has a real shot against moonbat Senator Al Franken, the race is 12th on my list of 12 rat seats I think we have a real chance to win.
In Bachmann’s open CD 6, Tom Emmer wins the primary as expected and is a lock for November.
It appears Grothman was the one who scared Petri into retirement in the first place. Now if only we could similarly get someone to scare out Sensenbrenner and Amnesty Paul...
Bacchiochi leads by 23 votes and the remaining votes appear to be from her home area.
She is flawed, backed by CT GOP House caucus. But she is strong on gun rights. Most teaparty groups united behind Somers in their opposition to McKinney.
Team Boughton was betrayed by SOmers so they backed Bacchiocki.
Walker did well in upper income towns that were impressed by his resume. He’s no local yocal.
What a ghost town primary. Disgraceful that the teaparty did not follow the adage of power loves a vacuum. Foley has done little to earn support from the grassroots right.
Jeff Johnson—the name you know.
While the race was called for Glenn Grothman relatively early, AP reports that, with 6 precincts still outstanding, Grothman leads Joe Leibham by only 215 votes. Yet AP called the race for Grothman. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2014/by_state/WI_US_House_0812.html?SITE=AP&SECTION=POLITICS
What gives?
There are important non Senate races that will affect the Senate.
In Arizona McCain needs a protege in the SoS, Gov or AG races. McCain or Graham might get to replace Hagel in 2017 so McCain may retire or retire in 2017 if nominated.
Paul Ryan and Sensenbrenner sold out on many issues. So you at least want the open primaries to go to conservatives. Duffy is nothing special; happy he didn’t break 90%.
Right Wing Watch said Grothman was a bad guy so that means he is the choice.
