Something went odd in Sheboygan county. They recounted and sent new numbers, narrowing Grothman’s lead after AP had called the race. More to come.
What “gives” is that Leibham strongholds of Sheboygan and Manitowoc reported late and Leibham won those. Glenn is still in the lead and still expects to win this.
I was working a poll yesterday in a County that Grothman won. I the voters in this district are split between those who once were represented by Grothman and those who were never represented by Grothman when he was either an Assemblyman, or State Senator. People who were once represented by Grothman heavily voted for Grothman. Ares that had never been represented by Grothman voted for Stroebal which I think is the direct result of Stroebals negative, unfair, and untruthful campaign ads against Grothman. apparently those ads worked amongst the people who did not know Grothman.
Also, the State Senator (Darling) who represents those people unexplainably came out in favor of Leibham. I think this cost Grothman some votes he would otherwise have gotten.
I don’t know what happened there because Darling and Grothman have worked together for years, but she is dead to me after her fundraisers and endorsements of Leibham.
Wow......... didn’t know that about Alberta Darling and her backing of Liebham. Agreed... she and Glenn worked together for years. What’s up with that. Do you know why?

Nobody I know seems to be able to answer that question. Alberta gave a fancy ;fund raiser at her home (AT HER HOME in River Hills) for Joe, and then she wrote a heaartfelt endorsement. I think I even got a personal email from her. Everybody I know is just stunned. Glenn went to the mat for her when they tried to recall her. I don’t get it.
Hi xxxx,She could have substituted the name Glenn Grothman throughout that letter. When it became apparent that Glenn was NOT going to be recalled, he turned all his effort and resources to support Alberta. Those of us in Ozaukee County certainly didn't see (or hear of) Joe Leibham throughout that whole ordeal.As a fellow resident of the 6th District, I am pleased to offer my endorsement to Joe Leibham in his effort to become our next congressman in Washington. I will be casting my vote for Joe Leibham today and encourage you to do so as well.
I have worked with Joe in the State Senate for the past number of years and know firsthand that Joe Leibham is a solid conservative who is a leader in getting things done. Joe and I were on the front line in the Joint Finance Committee standing with Governor Walker and fighting for the taxpayers of our state. Joe never flinched, even when he, his wife and three young children were threatened.
Joe is a tireless worker and has lead efforts to support job creation, entitlement reform and the photo ID for voting law.
Our federal government needs to be reformed, and Joe Leibham has developed the experience here in Wisconsin that will serve him well in Washington as he seeks to restore the greatness of our nation.
We need more people like Joe Leibham in Congress. Joe is honest, respectful, intelligent and hard working. Joe has the character to make us proud and the confidence to stand up for what is in the best interest of our nation's future.

Plus, Glenn authored most of Walker's Bills that have put the State back on a sound fiscal basis. Joe has done nothing, by comparison.
That's not entirely accurate. My State Rep. Duey Stroebel (R-Cedarburg) actually scared Petri into retirement when he announced publicly that he was considering a challenge to Petri. That put Stroebel on all 5 Milwaukee conservative talk radio shows.
Before Duey could formally announce his challenge, Grothman (my state senator) unexpectedly jumped in to challenge Petri the very next day. The Grothman move was unexpected because he did NOT live in the recently redrawn and very large congressional district. Petri, sensing that any conservative challenge would likely result in his electoral defeat, chose not to run. Stroebel probably would have joined Grothman to challenge Petri, but establishment-leaning State Sen. Joe Leibham (R-Sheboygan) would not.
Kudos to Grothman, a career politician, for his aggressive action. He made a similar move 8 years ago to challenge a RINO State Senate Majority Leader.
While I like Glen as my state senator, I would really have rather seen Stroebel or even Leibham win the congressional seat. I've met often with Grothman - both as a private constituent and as a government affairs professional - and I have always found him to be rather odd.
He is middle-aged, single, never married and he doesn't watch TV or movies. He reads policy books. He's never really run a business or faced concerns about making a home mortgage payment. He has no children and has never had to worry about getting multiple kids to concurrently scheduled baseball practice, music lessons and a dentist's appointment. He may be conservative politically, but he has ZERO direct understanding of the daily lives of most of his constituents and supporters.
I know it's not really fair to Glen, but I get the same creepy, eccentric vibe from him as I did from US Sen. Herb Kohl.
I'm also not real happy that the result of last night's primary effectively removes 3 conservative/Republican voices from the state legislature. Stroebel & Leibham had to give up their seats to run for Congress and Grothman's victory will necessitate a special election to fill the remaining 2 years of his state senate seat in January.
While it would make sense politically, I doubt Stroebel wants to self-finance a campaign for Grothman's seat. Rumors are already flying that former Assembly Leader Jeff Fitzgerald is considering moving from nearby Horicon to run for the seat.
I really shouldn't complain about a primary that featured 3 really good conservatives (OK, 2 conservatives and 1 nearly conservative Republican), BUT this morning I feel really shortchanged with the 3rd best guy winning the race.
Despite his best efforts and intentions, state GOP leaders have never liked Glenn - they only tolerate him.
Expect more of the same in Congress.
gooshy isn’t it? Yep... insert Glenn’s name. This is where they part company. This is why politics is so disgusting sometimes - most times. I DO remember him going to the mat for her and wow, at meetings I was at and everything he could do for her, he did.

She had robo calls out for Ralph Prescott, too. I had one on my answering machine a few days ago.
There are important non Senate races that will affect the Senate.
In Arizona McCain needs a protege in the SoS, Gov or AG races. McCain or Graham might get to replace Hagel in 2017 so McCain may retire or retire in 2017 if nominated.
Paul Ryan and Sensenbrenner sold out on many issues. So you at least want the open primaries to go to conservatives. Duffy is nothing special; happy he didn’t break 90%.
Right Wing Watch said Grothman was a bad guy so that means he is the choice.
I’m not sure that endorsement from Santorum did anything for Glenn, but I was certainly glad to see it. It did not surprise me because of Glenn’s strong pro-life record.
I couldn’t disagree with you more about Grothman. He is Mr. Solid Conservative. I’ve known him for more than 20 years, and I know his mother, father and brother, as well. He’s been my representative, or Senator all that time and I was part of the group that strongly encouraged him to run against Mary Panzer when she forgot all about her constituents after she became Majority Leader.
Duey Stroebal should be taken to the woodshed for his malicious, untruthful, and unfair ad campaign against Grothman and Leibham. Duey used to be my Rep too, until recently. I used to like him, but no more. I think he’s a disgrace — or at least his ads were. He took some very bad advice for this campaign and it will haunt him in the future if he continues in politics.
UPDATE! The AP has now WITHDRAWN their prediction that Grothman won this election. The vote between Grothman and Leibham is only 215 ballots apart with Grothman still in the lead. There is sure to be a recount.
Every liberal website is upset that he won. Even some are admitting he is a shoe-in for the general.

Odds and ends from Minnestoa, the underfunded Jim Hagedorn (son of former Rep. Tom Hagedorn who lost to rat Tim Penny in 1982) won the GOP nomination in CD-1 over the party-endorsed Aaron Miller.
And the unincorporated village of Cormorant in Becker County elected a dog to the unofficial position of “Mayor”. I bet he’ll have a zero% approval rating amongst the town’s cats, good thing they can’t be bothered to vote.
Well, Grothman won the primary for WI-6, narrowly, might be a recount. He should win in November with little trouble though the rats have a real candidate. He is definitely a good guy.
In the CT Governor’s race, Foley might not be all that great, but McKinney is a RINO’S RINO from a RINO family so his defeat is great news. Foley leads in the polls against the democrat Governor (and actually beat him 4 years ago, the election was stolen).
For the MN Senate, McFadden’s nomination was a sure thing after his only real opponents dropped out following the state GOP convention’s decision to endorse him. He has a real chance against the great clown, Franken. And I think the gubernatorial nominee, Jeff Johnson, has a real chance against the equally clownish rat Governor, Dayton.
Thanks for the info. So then we’re talking about potential wins in WI,, CT and MN? Were there then three states that had a run off?
