We shoot when we are about to be killed or someone else is...period. These cops around the nation, many whom have become union spoiled brats with 100% pay pensions at 55, are trigger happy! Good God!
Fleeing felon laws allow the police to shoot felons who are running away in certain cases.

Not that it applies in this case as far as we know...but clearly the police can, under certain circumstances, legally shoot and kill you if you are running away.
