The name of the officer which was due to be released at noon is not now going to be released because of death threats against the officer.

witness Piaget Crenshaw told the station, and the officer exited his vehicle and fired a shot

Yeah right! ...put her on the witness stand!

She's as credible as Rachel Jeantel, Trayvon's star witness.

I am absolutely SICK of this "unarmed" crap - because it is pure CRAP!!!!

An unarmed person CAN STILL POSE A THREAT!!! I'm not trying to exonerate the officer here, but the fact of a shooting victim being "unarmed" is not, should not, be automatically condemning of the shooter.

George Zimmerman shot Trayvon for good cause. A man with a criminal intent IS "armed" with that intent.

I am not one to trust police at all. But in this case the start witness is saying the cop just got out and shot multiple times? I have a hard time believing that. But now that the race hustlers are involved and the police department is on defense we’ll never know what happened. There’s going to be dash cam video or a cell video that will never be shown once Sharpton and Crump get their settlement checks.

Thanks UC

This blog says that "All we know is that two men allegedly attacked a police officer, and at least one of them ended up dead. The police chief says they assaulted the officer while he was getting out of his car, and that a struggle over the officer’s firearm ensued" - - Read more at http://themattwalshblog.com/2014/08/11/police-officers-arent-the-ones-destroying-the-black-community/#i2yfMkG3m5pMzef8.99 ...which is a little more information...

That video of Dorian Johnson sounds very credible to me.

I live in an affluent, low-crime town, but you can regularly hear just a basic traffic cop taunting and barking at a simple pedestrian or driver if the cop perceives movement that he didn’t expressly authorize. I can only imagine such a situation in a less crowded area, if his target didn’t immediately respond, apologize and do just what requested, especially if black teens were involved in an area where there is a lot of black crime.

On some level this really isn’t that different than all the cops shooting dogs needlessly because of a perceived threat.

Without revealing what led to the dispute, Belmar said the preliminary investigation showed that the Ferguson officer tried to exit his vehicle, but Brown pushed him back into the car, "where he physically assaulted the police officer" and struggled over the officer's weapon, Belmar said.

A shot was fired inside the police car, and Brown was eventually shot about 35 feet away from the vehicle, Belmar said.

But even if this account is 100% true, and we have only the police officer's testimony on it, the struggle for the gun was over. The police officer had his pistol and Brown was unarmed and fleeing. Why the need to shoot him?

Something smells here. Only in NYC, DC or NJ (maybe Philadelphia) would a police force NOT OUT a brother-in-blue that stepped out of his car and executed bystanders.

Methinks that Crump and the rest of the race hustlers got into a huddle and made up the story "Rachael Janteal style".

The thing I want to know about this story is why the policeman would bother stopping two kids walking home just because they were walking in the street rather the sidewalk?

My guess is that Ferguson is not a very busy place so unless they were walking in the middle of the road what is the story here?

If we go by the witnesses then this cop instigated this thing that ultimately spiraled out of control.

Lot of facts remain to be determined here but the key question is the action of the policeman here.

>>there was an exchange of words<<

Officer: Don’t walk in the Middle of the Street, it’s dangerous. Get on the sidewalk.

Kid: Yes Officer. Sorry. Have a nice day.

In my world that’s what happens. My Parent’s taught me common sense.

No way I would have an “exchange of words”, which I assume to be much more than what I wrote above with a Police Officer when I was a teenager.

I have to tell you, the story that Dorian Johnson tells of his recollection of the shooting of his friend seems very convincing.

It paints a different picture than what I'd read about the incident from other sources. I'd thought this was about the arrest of a man who tried to seize an officer's sidearm while struggling in the back of a police car as he was being taken into custody.

Seems to be not the case at all, if this young man is to be believed. Meanwhile, the police are all clammed up 'pending an active investigation'. Gosh, I suppose the police are frustrated with their inability to speak to the media about the story they're just bursting to tell in order to set the record straight on what happened in the death of this man.

I'll wait for more information of course before passing judgement.

these days generally I hate cops but I can understand some of the annoyance of the police officer.

Very often in the hood pedestrians slow walking in the street makes for a popular form of passive aggression.

The pace is extravagantly slow and designed to show that the walker assigns a value of ZERO to the time of drivers, particularly if they’re not black.

Whenever as a padestrian I make drivers slow I always try to.make a visibleshow of hurrying just a tiny bit —it’s repsect.

Hood people NEVER do that and cops pick up on it.

You would think that even the most podunk police dept would have EVERYTHING on camera by now; the cost of outfitting EVERY officer and vehicle is going to be less than that of even a small riot.

When he shot an unarmed man 35ft from the car, he committed murder.

There is no other reasonable or excusable explanation.

If Brown was unarmed, and shot at 35 ft., Blacks AND Whites both have a grievance to redress.

Incidents like these are happening at an alarming rate.

My thoughts: Struggle started in car - shot fired there. Struggle continued by either Brown pulling officer out of car, or officer being able to push back with enough force to move them away from the car. Struggle continued for the weapon, with the men moving over the ground away from the car. As far as the other shots go, we'll have to wait for further info on those. Did the gun fire again while they were fighting for it? Did the officer push Brown away, and shoot him because Brown kept coming at him? Just speculation on my part.

I have to question the witness. If the officer opened fire on Brown as claimed, how come he didn't shoot the witness too? He claims he was hiding behind the car, and if so, why didn't the officer just blow him away too, to eliminate any witnesses?

Brown was a big guy, and one cop would have had a very difficult time restraining or gaining control over him. Having first-hand knowledge of taking down belligerent convicts of all sizes, it wasn't uncommon for 3-4 officers being necessary to gain control of the individual's extremities. And even then, the struggle could move several feet away from where it had originally started.

From the CNN article:

“investigation showed that the Ferguson officer tried to exit his vehicle,, but Brown pushed him back into the car, “where he physically assaulted the police officer” and struggled over the officer’s weapon, Belmar said.
A shot was fired inside the police car, and Brown was eventually shot about 35 feet away from the vehicle, Belmar said.”

So, this isn’t rocket science. Is there a bullet or bullet hole in the police car?
