On his first day as an official candidate for the U.S. Senate, Lowcountry businessman and reality television star Thomas Ravenel thanked his supporters for signing and collecting the signatures that put him on the November ballot against incumbent Republican Lindsey Graham, Democrat Brad Hutto and Libertarian Victor Kocher.
A lot of people worked very hard on that (signature) effort and Im tremendously grateful to each one of them, Ravenel said. This is democracy in action whether the warmongers and welfare statists in Washington like it or not.

Does he have a realistic chance of winning?
How is Ravenel on the issues, specifically amnesty?
“Fits News” = No news.
Does he have a realistic chance of winning?

Anything is possible. But, with 4 people in the race (Graham-R, Hutto-D, Ravenel-I and Kocher-L), he has a realistic chance of helping Lindsey Graham NOT win. Graham, Ravenel and Kocher will split the GOP/Conservative/Libertarian votes and Hutto wins by a plurality. Which is fine with me. I loathe Lindsey Graham.

Well, I copied this from another article. You’ll have to decide where you think he stands on Amnesty.
Ravenel endorses a robust worker visa program, but stops short of endorsing a path to citizenship for those in the United States already. I am open to any ideas that sound reasonable. Whats happening now is totally unreasonable and its bad for the economy.
Ravenel can keep that degenerate.
Coked out immoral dude.....easily as slimy as Lindsay
Barry M. Goldwater turned into a fraud. True of virtually all of the AZ Republican “leadership”
Bad on amnesty. More clueless than evil Graham. Ravenel wont win, it is protest vote. Ravenel is correct on the foreign policy.
Nikki Haley and others in SC are being bought by Sheldon Adelson so I would not mind seeing Graham be spoiled by some open borders anti-war libertarian.
Hutto and Graham are identical on judges, perhaps guns and immigration.
Thom Tillis in NC is going to lose to Hagan because he did pro-amnesty state level immigration reform. Hagan stopped the Dream Act.
Sean Haugh is probably pro-amnesty as the third party spoiler to Tillis.
Democrats would be running competitive or safe if they ran Shuler(possible TN), Barrow(GA) and McIntyre(NC).
Only Mitch, Tillis and Cochran are keeping them competitive in some races.
The best candidate in the race.
IOW, he’s for a guest worker program if they go home when their work is over?
AuH2O!
He did marry a much younger, very liberal wife when he was around 85 years old in 1993.
His new wife had an impact on his final few years and he did say many things in his 80s that he would not have said when he was younger.
He endorsed the mess known as Ford instead.
That happened years before his second marriage.
He badmouthed and belittled Reagan while he was President.
Goldwater was not only an incompetent candidate, he was a lousy, anti-Christian snake in the grass.
IOW, hes for a guest worker program if they go home when their work is over?

Not sure. I’m not gonna try to get into his head. One would hope that is a correct assessment.

As I recall, Goldwater had a fully “secular” funeral; I believe it was on C-SPAN in 1998. Peggy Goldwater was also on the left, not just the second wife.
Goldwater seemed after 1964 to go out of his way to get Nelson Rockefeller to say something nice about him. He made a big point about voting to confirm Rockefeller for VP in 1974.
That sounds like it’s what he’s saying. But who knows?
