WASHINGTON President Obama abruptly changed course on Saturday and postponed a military strike against the Syrian government in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack so he could seek authorization first from a deeply skeptical Congress.

Constitutionalists arise - Insist on a formal declaration of war or forever hold your peace!
Preach it, brother!
Somebody check the time line. I don’t really have time. Could it be that Obama wanted to give ISIS Syria first, but had to settle for Iraq?
How does the failure of Congress to authorize force in Syria match up with the abrubt withdrawal from Iraq??
Nobody was supporting ISIS in Syria. The faction we supported were taken over and surrendered to ISIS. Syria was and is a very complex situation.

Exactly as predicted by most here at FR at the time, when Hussein was proposing to bomb on the Rebels' behalf.
Syria was not so complex as to be unpredictable. Islamofascists were clearly on the rise and were already the primary component of the Rebels last August. Any bombing by Hussein therefore would have primarily improved Islamist's position in the field.
Don't use complexity to cover for 0bama's idiocy, new guy.
The difference between the two votes was that bombing became a political hot potato.
So the arming of the rebels proceeded but the bombing did not. Now there is a lot of talk of spending more money to arm more Syrian rebels faster and maybe even giving them anti-aircraft weapons.
Since when did the Liar in Chief ask permission from Congress to do anything? He does whatever he wants, and then dares the cowards in Congress to do anything about it.
Constitutional government, Congress, and the Supreme Court can all go straight to hell as far as he's concerned, and the subhuman scum who elected him TWICE would make it 3 in a row if they could get away with it.
