In 1994 the economy of Poland was about 2X as big as Ukraines. By 2005 it was more than 3.5X larger. Ukraine didnt do well at all under Kuchma when compared to their neigbours.
How very statistical of you. Now I wonder if you can do the same trick again, this time comparing Ukraine to Ukraine.

Poland is a good benchmark to use for Ukraine. They have roughly the same population and they both suffered under Soviet Empire and had roughly equal GDP per capita in 1990. What happened next does not show Kuchma's reign in very good light.
