I saw just a little of this and tho I usually am all for the homeowner, I just can’t see shooting before you really know anything about what is going on.
Now if she had rushed at him or waved a gun but she was just drunk.
What was the racial breakdown of the jury?
Second degree murder, not first. Maybe he has a chance at parole in a few years, assuming he survives his stay in jail.
His big mistake was to continue to live in Detroit. It isn’t possible for a white person to get fair justice in the big US cities.
I guess the “I was in fear for my life” claim
did not work out for the homeowner in this case
like it does when a cop shoots a poodle.
Being irresponsible with a gun is every bit as bid as being a gun grabber.

This was not a ‘good’ shoot.
He didn’t know who he was firing at or what was going on.
If he feared for his life why did he open his metal front door?
He was safe behind it. Why open it and expose himself to a perceived danger?
His actions were not rational.
Hind sight is wonderful.....I was so nervous the gun accidently went off.
Pounded on his door - she was outside, not inside, and he feared for his life. Okay.
This guy is living in such a maze of terror that he's really better off locked up where he can't harm himself or anyone else. I have to assume that something horrible has happened to him in the past to make him so fearful.
Anyway, I hope they find a safe place for him.
I lived in a bad area in my younger days and had the early A.M. door pounding. Somehow I figured out that if they were pounding on my door they were probably lost, wasted or in trouble. I could usually ascertain that by a conversation through the door. I never shot anyone. Now if they somehow made it to my side of the door things are different. All that being said and with my limited knowledge of this case I probably side with the jury.
When this case first happened, I read all I could about it.
My conclusion then is the same as now, man, that dude in A HEAP of trouble!
