It highlights the role of a nonprofit called “BCFS” which, according to Time, has received more than $280 million since December to operate temporary housing shelters for children who illegally cross the Mexican border into the U.S.
On July 7, two days before [the charity head] met Obama in Dallas, the Department of Health and Human Services awarded BCFS $190,707,505 in a single grant.
The Time article also brings attention to an ongoing theme under the Obama administration: its penchant to withhold public information of public interest. According to Time, “To shield vulnerable kids from angry opponents of immigration and the media spotlight, the government declines to disclose the locations and activities of many of the facilities operated by BCFS and similar organizations. That protectiveness comes at a political cost. Governors in states across the U.S. have assailed the federal government for sending kids to their states without notifying local officials, and congressional critics say that massive amounts of taxpayer money are being spent without proper oversight.”
BCFS’s job is massive. According to Time, it has devoted 1,400 employees to manage its temporary shelters this year. At least one U.S. Senator, Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), is concerned about possible lack of appropriate oversight. He has asked Health and Human Services for information about BCFS contracts.
Despite being almost completely dependent on the public, BCFS has faced heavy criticism for attempting to avoid public scrutiny. This aversion to basic transparency is extremely disturbing.”
Time reports that the BCFS’ leader received nearly $450,000 in compensation in 2012. At least four other top officials earned more than $200,000.

Some charity monitoring orgs now no longer provide IRS 990 forms for BCFS, due to "unredacted SSN's". Bull---.
The other day driving I-15 toward Las Vegas I passed several big white busses with blacked out windows. The busses were unmarked but the US Govt. plates gave them away. A few other motorists seem to have figured this out too and were driving aggressively near one bus. Last I saw that bus was doing about 90 mph in the fast lane and the other drivers seemed to have eased off.

How can this be stopped? It reminds me of the Vlad Tepes story when he became angry at the amount of beggars in his realm. He declared that all the indigent would be served a great feast. While the work shy and criminals were feasting, his soldiers sealed the doors and windows, and burned the place to the ground. Seems both cost and safety conscious, in retrospect.

Pure BS. Angry opponents of immigration? These are illegal aliens, not legal immigrants. The secrecy is about hiding the true scale and scope of what is going on as well as the crony relationship between BCFS and the government. It is outrageous.

I think there’s a faint ‘aroma’ here .... I’d like to know the “connections” and I’m sure there are some. School chum of The Mooch? Major Dem contributor? I think it’s there somewhere - too much money being funneled their way. Sharyl Attkisson wrote this article so it seems she’s sniffing around the edges & that’s a good thing - she’s got a discerning nose for stuff The Regime wants to keep under wraps.
Oh, there's major oversight right into Obola's wallet just like, I'm sure, some of that Stimulus money.
That hands off secrecy of the centers also applied to Congress who weren't allowed inside with their cell phones and not allowed to speak to them.
