If that is enough to drive us out of Afghanistan, then stick a fork in us, we are done.

There is nothing to be gained by staying except more dead troops.

Its been 44 years, since the last general was killed.

He was shot four times in the back per a new report.

Four died in Benghazi.

No one is to blame in the crazy geopolitikal world of today.

Good troop gone bad or .. A plant from the start?

There’s a reason why the Ratusskies left Afghanistan.

Ugh, I just realized this MG Greene is one that I knew. I’ve briefed him a bit over the years, several times for a project I was working recently when he was the deputy ASA(ALT) at the Pentagon. He was a genuinely kind person, who seemed a little soft to the casual eye, but underneath was very tough, savvy, and very intelligent. Like I didn’t hate *#*$! Muslims enough already. :-(

Afghanistan and Iraq made a very nice “vise” around Iran. But, we’ve thrown THAT away...

“My God, it’s good to talk to a sensible man.” (Robert A. Heinlein)

I disagree only about the sand you refer to. In this case, we have a head (Obama’s) that fits into a cup on a golf course. I hope someone has drawn that cartoon...

Well — it (changing a nation’s mindset) can sometimes be done, and has been. Post WW2 Japan, for example. But to do it you have to beat the population to a pulp, and probably have to demonstrate willingness to use even stronger measures (nukes, in the case of Japan.)

Modern Western sensibilities make this unacceptable - at least for now. When we lose a city, or generally suffer significantly, that may change.

Huge difference between Japan and ME...'ISLAM'...which directs 'everything' in their life. And any not Islamic are infidels...and this without provocation...it's their nature. So no...until they can denounce the Koran and Islam as it stands...there can be no change in their mindset.. when push comes to shove we always see it rise above all else for them no matter how people otherwise want to see them as.
