Several news cycles pass without much discussion of Obamacare/the Affordable Care Act. Some may interpret this as a sign that disapproval of the law is wavering — it isn’t — or that the reports of frustration, waste, mismanagement and premium hikes have stopped. They haven’t stopped, they’re just not surprising news anymore, and they’ve been pushed to the back pages by the summer’s cavalcade of crises: the humanitarian crisis on the border, ISIS taking over Iraq, Russian separatists shooting down airliners, Israel fighting Hamas, and so on. As mentioned in today’s Jolt:

It isn’t a “humanitarian crisis”, it’s illegal aliens and they are not our citizens, let alone our problem.

It is amazing how a new crisis or scandal breaks out just in time to move the current headline to the background.
None of the crises and scandals of the last 6 years have been resolved — no matter how many speeches were given nor how many dollars Congress allocated.
I checked out my costs if I didn’t have employer provided healthcare. $1300 a month for my family with $10,000 deductible per year for a silver plan. Zero subsidies.
These bills are showing up for people this fall.
When are outlets like National Review, Fox News, Talk Radio, Internet Radio, etc., going to realize that they ARE the media these days?
The House passes a bill to deal with it and the Democratic US Senate goes on Vacation??
The Democrats have been screaming 'this is a humanitarian crisis" and they go on Vacation??
One thing to consider, though.
Obamacare hits each individual directly.
Most of the other disasters are more abstract.
A lot of folks don’t need the MSM to tell them this is a problem.
Obamacare may not be in the news, but after Labor Day it’s going to be front and center as a result of paid advertising to elect Republicans.
This is just the calm before the storm.
