If it sounds like a dumb question, I apologize, but I am a woman, so I don’t have any knowledge of fighting techniques. Thinking, though, that I ought to learn some for what is coming.

Not a dumb question because a chain or club or anything that needs training is not your best defensive weapon. Although I was trained with a PR24 club while Shore Patrol in Navy, I would rather have had a stun gun and/or pepper spray.
