Hundreds of undocumented migrants at a detention centre in Washington state have started a hunger strike, according to supporters, in the run-up to rallies and civil disobedience aimed at forcing through immigration reform.

Detainees at the Tacoma facility started refusing food on Wednesday in a planned 75-hour fast, timed to end on Saturday when activists will march on the White House to demand that President Obama break the reform logjam.

:snip:

Activists from #Not1More, a coalition which uses opposition to deportations to push for wider reform, are hosting small protests in Washington DC in the run-up to Saturday’s march, which they hope will help keep immigration on the political agenda while Obama and Congress head off for summer breaks.

On Wednesday, Villalpando and five others occupied the Capitol Hill office of Mark Takano, a California Democrat who is part of Congress’s LGBT equality caucus. In another act of civil disobedience dozens of activists are due to kneel and pray in front of the White House on Thursday, said Jolinda Stephens, who flew to the capital from...

you know, Honduras has some nice beaches. Let's go take 'em. We can sit under the cabanas and threaten a hunger strike as we sip our pina coladas.

If they die won’t that be less mouths I have to feed with my tax money? Win/win.

The Philippines is full of English-speaking people who admire us, it’s cheaper and has better beaches. Why go to Mexico or Central America?

No worries. Bus them to the border and point them south. They can be hungry all they wish at that point, and see if on their journey back home they can get better accommodations and meals.

The PI will always have a special place in my heart but Cook Island is next (and probably last) on my bucket list. I’m being silly, of course, saying we should go occupy Honduras, but all these ‘gimme gimme’ protests from illegals are starting to shake my apple tree.

I advise them to eat. It’s fundamental to life. However, I respect their right to starve themselves to death.

Huh when open border traitors mention faith no one compares them to the Taliban but when pro-life traditional marriage activists mention faith its the worst thing ever!

No doubt there are federal agencies officials from DC there to encourage this. Will Hag Pelosi speak to them via satellite? Look for that also or something similar from a member of congress.

True, the hospitality is wonderful, and the beaches are great, but not right now. Never turn your back on the waves. Some drunk guy got killed two days ago. From what I hear, he got hit by a huge wave. He wasn't seen again. I still don't know if they ever found his body.

Would be a shame if they starved. Whatever would we do without this population of slugs?

In a way, I sympathize with them. We should not be “detaining” people, whether illegal immigrants or terrorists. We should be deporting them to their countries of origin, or shooting them if they’re guilty of terrorist attacks on Americans.

“Immigration reform” is nothing but a euphemism for amnesty, and no one wants it.

However, if those illegals want to go hungry for three days to try to get support for amnesty, they are free to do so.

Is there any justification for wasting time and money on hearings for those who have no documentation establishing that they belong here? If there is immigration reform, it should be of the type that says that anyone showing up without documentation is put on the other side of the border. Would Mexico become more willing to stop the flow at their southern border, if we were to put all the illegals right back onto their northern border without trying to repatriate them?

There ought to be a law:

Any illegal that is involved in public protests, like this one, needs to be charged with a felony, do time in jail, then be promptly deported to the southern most part of South America.

Wait, skip the jail time, just deport.

Fine.

Let them starve themselves, if they wish.

Provide them with sufficient food, every day.

If they refuse to eat it, that’s their problem.

Or ...

DEPORT THEM!!!
