I would look at the dogs as a form of propagation. If they did perform a ritual burial and the rains hit, it would have provided a exposed carcass for the local dogs to eat and pass on potential Ebola virus antibodies.

Any form of third party contact would be suspect.

At his point, and my understanding of Ebola is very limited, the fact nations have been more than alerted is enough for me to “watch” whom I'm around until there's more information. But however it's being passed, Africa nations on the whole eat animals from the wild, dead or alive....and their access to basic cleanliness is limited.....so spread it will.
