Does anyone here know if ebola survives extremely cold temperatures? outbreaks seem to occur in very warm climates. could there be a way to create a very cold environment to help slow down transmission? I have not heard of outbreaks happening in cold places - has anyone else?

They’ve recently claim to have traced it back to the fruit bat. I say ‘claim’ as up until recently they didn’t know for sure where it came from.

Ebola seems to have a reservoir in the fruit bat. I would expect that Ebola can spread wherever there are fruit bats.

Fruit bats are considered a delicacy in parts of Africa. Africans also have other customs that are conducive to the spread of Ebola.
