Dethroning Tennessee's tax king

Tennessee’s Aug 7 Senate primary race is much more than a We the People candidate versus the establishment incumbent.

The race is an opportunity for conservative state Rep. Joe Carr to dethrone Tennessee’s incumbent RINO tax king, Sen. Lamar Alexander.

Lamar Alexander’s voting record shows that over 62 percent of the time he voted with Barack Obama, “more frequently than any other Republican senator from the South.” The fiscal cliff tax-hike bill that raised payroll taxes, income taxes, death taxes, capital gains taxes and dividend taxes, which increased taxes by more than $600 billion, earns top billing on the senator’s list of tax votes, along with the omnibus spending bill. Add to that hearty mix of taxes Alexander’s votes for bailouts, Cash for Clunkers and the Internet sales tax bill, and it’s not difficult at all to see why the two-term senator earns the title of Tax King of Tennessee.

Lamar Alexander also got on board with a vote for the farm bill that ultimately resulted in expanding Food Stamps. And the Tax King completely disregarded the mother of all government spending woes – the national budget – when he voted “No” on Sen. Rand Paul’s proposal that would have balanced the budget in five years and completely overhauled all entitlement programs. (But isn’t that typically the case when RINOs are presented with alternatives to massive government overreach?)

Such sellout voting spurns conservative values of not only Tennesseans, but also conservatives nationwide by undermining efforts to rein in reckless spending while simultaneously helping Big Government expand its reach into taxpayer’s lives. It’s evident that Tennessee’s Tax King pompously mocks adherence to responsible conservative politics. He proudly touts his crown as he helps kingpin Obama fundamentally trample underfoot American Exceptionalism.

The dirty little secret is that the “professional” politicians from both sides of the aisle have bankrupted and destroyed the lives of all Americans for decades.

If there was to be justice for all, all of these would be arrested and hung for crimes against God and humanity.

Harsh? Well, I vote Republican because it is a steep slope to the abyss ahead, Democrats vote to leap off the edge straight down to the abyss.

Velocity is the only difference, they both take us there eventually.

I’m visiting family in Tennessee. There’s a TV ad of Fred Thompson touting Lamar Alexander as this great `conservative’.

Fred should go back to pushing reverse mortgages.

Tomorrow in early voting I’ll vote for Carr. I don’t even like driving on the Lamar Alexander Parkway to get to the airport.

Out with the old, in with the bold.
Speaking of which there does not seem to be many older staunchly conservatives in DC. Another reason for term limits as they seem to go RINO soft in their sunset years.
They do enjoy their DC Country Club tho...
