As if Ebola isn't enough already!

South Jersey has actually had a rather cool summer so far. 70’s and 80’s. I’m loving it.

he CDC recommends the following precautions to avoid Vibrio vulnificus infections . . . . Wear protective clothing when handling raw shellfish. WTF? Am I supposed to wear a Hazmat suit when cooking lobster?

Also been extremely cool in the Midwest. Several record lows set for the month of July. We had a 48 on the morning of July 3rd.

We are just now seeing 100 degree days. That usually comes late June down here.
To: Kartographer
Folks, you don’t want to give this bacteria a place to set up housekeeping. The lesions are frightening. Check out some images on the internet for yourself.

"Vibrio vulnificus wound infections
have a mortality of approximately 25%. In patients in whom the infection worsens into septicemia, typically following ingestion,
the mortality rate rises dramatically to 50%. The majority of these patients
die within the first 48 hours of infection."
Ughh. It's like seaborne plague.

No kidding...
I dismiss most of this stuff for that reason.
Isn’t it amazing what a small percentage of one degree can cause to the ecology?
How has the world survived, the massive hits to the natural ecology over the eons?

Went sailing around Stuarts Rosevelt bridge yesterday.
Water was like coffee. Not sure how anything lives in it without deforming.
Polluting big suger, big citrus and big cattle are destroying what only 30 years ago was pristine.

Too funny. do you typically rub the raw lobster all over your body?
If not, I think those playtex gloves used in the kitchen might suffice.

Are the elementary schools still going crazy with over reaction about Peanuts and Peanut Products? Some times it’s very real, but many times it’s learned behavior to fear the peanut.

Florida health officials are warning beachgoers about a seawater bacterium that can invade cuts and scrapes to cause flesh-eating disease.
Coincidence? No, as long as the MSM is trying to create public hysteria with the Ebola news, might as well toss in the "Vibrio vulnificus" to add to the hysteria.......
Funny how the latter has been common knowledge for over 35 years and just now the media issues a public warning..........
I'm surprised the MSM hasn't issued a state wide alert in Michigan warning against "swimmers itch".........

As a side note, now you know how that old saying of only eating oysters in months containing an “R” got its roots.....that began before they started to artifically farm the shellfish.
