When it comes to finding a job after graduation, business students are throwing their sexual orientation into the mix as well.
Reaching Out MBA, an annual conference of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender graduate business students, completes its three-day lineup of speakers and workshops with a job faira job fair that is becoming increasingly exclusive.
According to Matt Kidd, executive director of Reaching Out MBA, 10 percent of the 1,100 attendees at last years conference identified as straight. Because of that, this year's attendees are now required to submit an essay on why they wish to attend the conference or be recommended through campus LGBT organizations so that the conference can vet potential attendees.

As a “job fair”, which by its nature involves employers, I would think it would *have* to be covered under at least the “emanations and penumbras” of the same regulations that prevent said employers from using sexual orientation as a criteria in hiring.
How tolerant and diverse of them!
[ If you read what a lot of gays write, they think everyone is intrinsically gay. ]
If you read what a lot of liberals wire, they think damned near everyone is intrinsically liberal...
Projection and Mental illness go hand in hand...
[ I wonder, how long before they want us to prove to them that were not homophobes by letting them have their way with us? ]
Just say you are asexual and don’t do sex and to force me to would be discrimination against a minority group that is even smaller than the homosexual group...
So much for their vaunted “Inclusion”..
I’m waiting for the first gay cake shop to be sued for not preparing a wedding cake for a straight couple...
but I’d settle for a discrimination lawsuit
Only in the liberal world...
Sounds like the modern version of Tootsie, with straight students trying to “pass” in order to get a job. Kind of the reverse “klinger” from “MASH”.
I could see a sitcom in someone getting so hired and trying to keep up the front at work.
Good example of discrimination based on sexual orientation.
The ‘straights’ should take note of which companies elect to attend the job fair; then publish a listing of those companies to the internet so potential future job applicants will know they are not welcome to apply.
Who is paying to put on these job fairs?
These days, I suspect that any show that had a character claiming mental illness because that character was a cross-dresser would find itself being protested right off the tv. I don’t think we will ever see a character like Klinger again.
Cheers did an episode on this once. Norm had a talent at interior decorating but his yuppie clients preferred their cars german, their wines french and their designers gay.
No, I’m referring to the reverse “Klinger”, where such a claim would be made to secure a position, not to be dismissed from one.
Ha! Sounds like comedy writers were way ahead of me.
What are these freakazoids: straightphobic?????
HOMOSEXUAL, because there’s nothing GAY about it.
Like Jack Tripper, trying to keep up the front for landlords Roper and Furley.
