They have been feeding the alligator, hoping he eats Israel and the Jewish people last.
Unfortunately it hasn't quite worked out that way, despite Harvey Weinstein's efforts.

Better late than never, seriously. President Obama, together with Pelosi and Reid, have dragged the Democrat Party so far to the left in less than a decade that we should expect to see some significant defections. Not all liberals are full blown leftists, after all, but the current Dem Party has little room for anyone who isn’t a full blown leftist.
We should be welcoming people in, not belittling them for finally getting frustrated enough to question their allegiance to a party that’s changed so dramatically recently.
Besides, if true liberals start to desert the party, they will bring along lots of followers, people who vote Dem consistently but don’t pay much attention to politics. When those they listen to start questioning Dem priorities, that will influence their future votes as well.
I’ve been waiting for the Dems massive leftward shift to start to hurt their party. Maybe it’s finally happening?
