Umm, If I had A Dog like that coming at me with teeth showing I am not sure if I would or would not incapacitate Him/Her...I just don’t know.

Umm, If I had A Dog like that coming at me with teeth showing I am not sure if I would or would not incapacitate Him/Her...I just dont know. The excerpt says nothing about the dog 'coming at him'. The article quotes the girl's mother as saying the dog was not moving when shot.
So where are you getting that?

There is nothing in the article to indicate the dog was approaching the cops. Indeed, it appears the dog was in his own yard when shot. If the cops felt threatened, the should have left the yard, not shot the dog.

Cops should be prepared to behave appropriately and butchering somebody’s pet is not “appropriate”.
Remember - they are “professionals”. Just ask one, they’ll tell you. Ever hear of pepper spray? How about just LEAVING?
