It was 80 here at seven AM with a low in the seventies expected tonight following a heat index of about 106 this afternoon. I’ll take your summers and keep my winters if you will take my summers and keep your winters.

Actually it is supposed to cool back down after today, so far this has been a relatively mild summer in Eastern SC. Only once or twice has the actual temperature touched 99 or 100. Much, much cooler than some I can recall growing up. Any day in late July that you can work outside without having a heat stroke is a blessing here. I think even the tough guys will be looking for an air conditioned place this afternoon though.

Lying liars lie!

I agree. We’re in the 60’s in southern Ohio. For the next 10 days, the forecast says we’ll reach maybe the mid-80’s.

All my life, this area has had its very hottest times of year from the last week in July through the first week in August. Without exception that I recall.

I’m hearkening by to my childhood texts that said we were entering a new ice age. In any case, last winter was cold. My memory also says that one cold winter was followed by another. That seems to be tracking. Stock up on salt early.
