'Freedom Flotilla II' set to sail for Gaza from Turkey (With Turkish military protection)

Amid Israel’s Operation Protective Edge to stop Hamas attacks from Gaza, a “Freedom Flotilla” is being organized in Turkey to bring humanitarian aid to the Hamas-controlled Palestinian coastal enclave with the protection of the Turkish military, according to an unconfirmed media report.

The flotilla, called “Freedom Flotilla II,” is being organized by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), the same organization that was behind the Mavi Marmara flotilla that sought to break Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip in May 2010.

Israel Navy commandos boarded the ship, were attacked, and killed nine of the attackers.

Thanks ExPat1000. That’s what I probably got confused, NATA vs EU Membership.

You seem to be right about NATO membership. Others have chimed in too. My thought on that is that there is an internationally recognized blockade of the Gaza Strip. There is justification for it, and the world community has evidently signed on conceptually.

Here Turkey would be running an internationally recognized blockade. That would seem to give NATA member nations wiggle room to avoid involvement.

I do think Vlad could play the sympathy card, and woo Turkey away. Turkey may buy off on that. I don’t know.

Thanks LRM. I appreciate the response. From other responses it appears you’re right on target.

It may come to that. Turkey is pushing something that it shouldn’t be here.

Thanks Gen.Blather. I appreciate the mention. I think I confused the E.U. membership with NATO. With Erdogan, all of it is problematic right now.

Putin did allegedly promise to ensure Israel’s security in the region.

Ha ha ha ha...you are joking right ... you mean like how Putin promised to never use military force against Ukraine?

The report contradicts evidence indicating that Russia is involved in arming some of Israel’s most formidable threats, including Iran, Syria, and Egypt. Russia was reportedly among the most vocal supporters of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and came out against Israel’s rumored possession of nuclear weapons earlier this year.

No one including Bibi believes anything Putin says...only you and a handful of other useful idiots do.

You can’t stand the fact that Israel and Putin got together on something, That is a good thing. That happened because the government that you believe on everything at the moment is hostile to Israel. Israel and Egypt get along? Now isn’t that odd? Why do you think that is? Egypt was lied to and they now hate the American administration. They though they were going to get freedom, instead they got militant Islam and Sharia backed by the Obama admin puppet Muslim Brotherhood Morsi.

Everything isn’t always cut and dried as you seem to think it is. Countries can posture and seem to align over different things in order to move chess pieces.

Looks to me that Netanyahu, you call him Bibi like he is your buddy, understand each other. At least both know who they are dealing with and both recognize that neither is an idiot or sissy buffoon.

I guess facts just irritate you. You are slow and it shows.
