“Lying scum. You don’t cook rice in a pressure cooker.”

I agree with you about the lying scum part, but in fact you do cook non minute rice in a pressure cooker sometimes. If You’ve ever cooked it, it takes a Looonnng time in a sauce pan on a burner.

Rice cookers made specifically for the job negate the need for a pressure cooker. Done in 20 minutes or less.

20 minutes for white basmati, 35-40 minutes for brown rice.
I guess that’s a relatively long time, if you’re used to eating fast-food or microwaved frozen food.

I have a rice cooker that is definitely non-pressurized and it cooks rice in 20 minutes.
